Chapter 36
"Conner, Angel, Collin, Cory, Esther, for the last time, you're ill, you can't have ice-cream!" I repeated patiently, again and again. They've caught a cold, and they're craving for ice-cream - sometimes I wonder if they really are humans.
"But Mom!" They whined simultaneously.
"Now, now, ladies and gentleman, once you're well, I'll bring every single one of you out for ice-cream, alright? But let me repeat again, only once you're well enough," Cody butted in with a chuckle at the end.
"But- " he cut them off again.
"Uh-uh, no but's," Cody sternly said - well, his voice was stern...as for face, nope, nothing, just a plain, cute, smile of his.
The kids coughed and sighed in defeat, then continued watching iCarly.
"I really pity them," Cody shook his head and dipped his finger into his ice-cream. This boy can be really stupid at times.
I folded my arms and stared at him. "And by eating ice-cream right before them, doesn't help. At all. You know that, right?"
He turned to me, to the ice-cream, then to the kids, and back to me, this time with his mouth forming an O. "Oops! My bad..."
"Uh-huh," I tapped on my foot, and waited until he kept the ice-cream back in the freezer. "took you long enough to realize that."
"Anyways, isn't it time we put up the Christmas tree?" Cody asked as I leaned against the wall.
"Hmm, it's twenty-forth today, huh? Alrighty then. Let's do it!"

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way..." the background music played as we went to different stores to shop. The mall was crowded, it's a definite. It was snowing, too. Gold Coast, Gold Coast, Gold Coast...big day today!
"All of you, ready to go back home and celebrate?" Cody asked and held the shopping bags he had in his hands.
I laughed at him, and the kids' reactions - I don't know how to put it, it's just too funny.
We walked back home singing Christmas hymns, but we didn't sing it for long. Maybe a song or two - our house was nearby anyways. Oh, I need not mention that the paps were all standing around our house, yeah?
Our gate automatically closed, and we made a dash into the house. The kids couldn't take the flashes. But Cody and I yelled Merry Christmas, everyone! before we entered the house. It does no harm to be nice, right? Yup, right.
Ah, great, the parents have arrived! Oh, yay, they've prepared the food!
"This should be a great Christmas, yeah?" I asked Cody and smiled at him.
He smiled and faced me. "Yeah, absolutely. Happy Christmas, baby."
I threw my hands around his neck and hugged him tight. "Happy Christmas, love."
He pecked me on the lips and smiled.
"Who's ready for Christmas dinner?" My Mom asked with a smile. Suddenly, this house became even more fascinating and exciting.
