Chapter 27

"Mom, how much do you think Pops' and Nanas are enjoying their vacation in Hawaii?" Angel quietly asked, her face a little sad. All of us hadn't seen Davide, Angie, Brad and my Mom, well, they're in their vacation apparently, and all of us misses them.

"Well, I'm sure they're having lots of fun! Why?" I asked, actually already knowing the answer.

She scratched her head with a slight grin. "I miss Nanas' home food." What? No! That wasn't the answer I was expecting! I was expecting maybe a I miss them so much or even I miss their smiles!Okay, that was me, but I just didn't see that coming.

I raised an eyebrow at her like, "Are you kidding me?" I asked.

She chewed on her bottom lip and fiddled with her fingers, once again, scratching her head after she was done fiddling with her fingers. "Uh, actually I'm not..."

I shook my head with an amused smile. "Go play with Esther."

"Oh, she's asleep," she stretched and stifled a yawn, "and I'm starting to feel sleepy - I think I'm gonna go take a nap," she stood up and made her way up the stairs slowly.

I smiled at her. The boys were still out there having fun while she's home, and ready for a nap with her sister.

"Babe, bad news," Cody rushed into the room, with his mobile phone in his hand. "Riley's out of prison and she's living across us with her new boyfriend..."

I uncomfortably shifted on the couch and my gaze fell on the kids. They can't know about this. I stood up and walked out of the room, pulling Cody out by his hand. "Why? Does she know we live here?"

"Apparently she doesn't but it's said that she'll be moving in three days, she rented the house for some unknown reason."

I rubbed my temple. "Alright, got it."

"Be careful, okay?" He looked at me before giving me a peck on the lips.

I nodded with a small smile. "But I doubt I'll be going out..."

"What about the kids going to school?"

"At most, we're going to have to allow them to go back after four days - the extra day, just in case." My hands clenched into fists as if there was a live of its own.

He nodded in understanding.

"Who's Riley?" Conner asked behind us.

"Promise me, Conner, don't ever go near a lady called Riley and never believe her words," I said. "I trust you. Now go tell the others."

He frowned, but went to tell anyway.

"Cody," I had the urge to break down. "I'm scared."

"Don't be. I'll be here, next to you until she leaves. Don't worry, I'm here," he wrapped his arms around me and stroked on my back.

Riley's back now...after so long. If she lays a finger on both, my husband and kids, I Nevedah Belle, swear to God, that death will be the next thing happening to her before she knows it.
