Chapter 12
"So, mom," Conner said, as he climbed onto my lap. "When can we find out if they're girls or boys?"
"A few more months, perhaps," I shrugged a little. "Why?"
"Oh, nothing... I'mjusttooeagertobeanolderbrotherofthreeothersiblings!" He quickly said and grinned sheepishly at me.
I laughed and thought for a minute. "You are?"
He nodded. "I wanna be an older brother of my siblings who are younger than me. A twin doesn't really count... By the way, where's Dad?"
"He's in the studio recording with Uncle Shawn," I ruffled his spiky hair.
"Oh," then he realized what I just did. "Mom! Don't mess with the hair!" then he fixed it and grinned at me again.
I smiled, but in confusion. "What?"
"I remembered how Nana told me that Dad said the exact same thing when she ruffled his hair."
I laughed. "Got that right!"
"Mom Mom Mom Mom Mom," Angel squealed and ran down the stairs.
"What?" I asked, suddenly panicking.
"Hi," she waved innocently at me, before walking into the kitchen.
I gasped and closed my eyes, trying to calm down.
"Shall I give her a piece of my mind?" Conner quietly asked.
I shook my head with a smile. "I appreciate your offer, but no thanks, I was way more worst when I was young."
Conner laughed and cuddled into me. "Can you tell me some stories?"
I opened my eyes and held him tighter.
"Well, I did the exact same thing, but it was terrible. Very terrible." I laughed.
Flashback
"MOM MOM MOM MOM MOM!!!" I screamed as I darted down the stairs, and into the kitchen, crying and screaming.
My mother, who was washing the dishes, jumped up high in the air and squealed, before turning to me with a worried look.
Did I miss out the part where the ceramic bowl in her hand slipped out and fell onto the floor? Well it did.
"What happened, Nevedah?" Mom freaked out and picked me up.
I bit my lip and grinned. "Hi Mommy," I waved cutely.
She sighed. "Nevedah, you're four, don't do something that'll scare Mommy like that, please?"
I pouted in regret. "Sorry Mommy..."
Flashback over
Conner laughed so hard that his body was shaking, his cheeks seemed like they were falling off, and that he had to clutched onto his stomach.
"Mom," he breathed. "that was... that was... hi-hilarious, oh gosh..."
"Hey, what's so funny people?" Shawn entered the room.
I laughed. "Hey Shawn."
He smiled and jerked his chin towards me.
"Uncle Shawn, Mom was just telling me—" I covered his mouth.
I grinned. "I was just telling him my mischievous moments when I was a kid."
Shawn shot me a look. "Right...okay...?" He started laughing.
"Mmm! Mmm!" Conner mumbled against my palm with a frown.
"Right... I'm going back to the studio?" Shawn shook his head at Conner and me and took many steps back.
I smiled and opened my arms to carry Conner quietly when Shawn disappeared.
"Conner," I slowly and evilly said.
He tried to escape, but I held him tighter. "Mom! Don't! I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" He shrieked.
I ran my fingers on his sides up and down then he laughed like there's no tomorrow. Don't even talk about screams.
"Mom! Stop! I'll not do it again! I promise!" He choked out.
I stopped my fingers and laughed.
