Chapter 20
"Ah! I'm so sorry for being late, dear," Mom entered the ward. "there was heavy traffic."
I nodded.
"Where's the in-laws?" She asked.
I turned to Cody who had the twins on his lap, the three of them asleep.
I smiled and returned to my Mom, and did the finger human walking action and mouthed the word home.
She nodded. "And your voice...?"
I shook my head.
And she nodded again.
Just then, the door opened and Davide came in. "Hello, Nevedah."
I waved, as he went to take a look at the triplets.
"Ah, Cory and Esther looks like you," he smiled.
I laughed mutely and nodded.
"She can't talk," my Mom explained.
Davide nodded.
There's so many nodding, it's hard to communicate!
"Okay, well, we shall not disturb any further. I've got a meeting in an hour, and I've got to prepare some paper works, and Davide's got a client he has to meet. So take good care of yourself, okay, Nevedah?" Mom asked.
I nodded with a smile.
"Love you, Nev," she said as she left.
I did the heart, then point to her, then raised my index and middle fingers.
I closed my eyes and let out a breath I never knew I've been holding. It's weird how I've got a pair of twins, then triplets...it's like a pattern. Maybe if... If I was expecting again, it may be quadruplets. No way. No, no, no. No. Five kids is enough especially when we're still young.
"Good afternoon, Mrs. Simpson," The Nurse, Bella, came in with a smile.
"It's time you fed the kids again," she reminded me.
I nodded and smiled. "Thank you for the reminder, Bella."
"You're welcome," she answered, before leaving the ward, for me to handle.
I'm able to handle now...but can I handle in the future?
