Chapter 21
"Alright, we're home," I quietly said and carried the babies into the house.
"Hi, babies! This is home! Welcome home!" Angel enthusiastically said, with a huge grin on her face.
Conner smiled and played with the babies for a little bit, before coming over to me. "Mom, I think you and Dad make the most beautiful babies in the world."
I smiled. "Oh? Why is that so?"
"Well, Angel and I are beautiful four-going-five year olds, and the three little ones over there are so beautiful too," he grinned sheepishly.
I bent down and gave him a quick peck on the head. "I know, right?"
"Of course," Cody appeared beside us.
"C'mon, let's go play with the triplets!" Conner grabbed
***
"Go back to sleep, baby. I'll go attend to the babies," Cody sleepily whispered and gave me a little kiss before running off into the triplets' room.
I shook my head with a smile, and still went to see how he was gonna handle three at once... That's just impossible.I stepped into the room, then I found Conner standing beside Cody, with Esther in his arms, and Collin and Cory in Cody's.
"Wow," I smiled at the both of them. "Conner, what're you doing up at three thirty in the morning?"
He yawned. "They woke me up."
"What about Angel?" I asked.
"I told her to continue sleeping?" He said but more like a question though.
I smiled and turned to Cody.
"Cody," I nudged him.
No reply.
"Cody?" I raised an eyebrow.
He's sleeping? While carrying the boys?
I quickly placed my hand underneath his and I don't know what I did, he just suddenly woke up.
"Cody, go back to sleep, I'll handle it from here," I shook my head with amusement.
He yawned. "I'm sorry, babe."
I shook my head and took the babies into my arms. "Doesn't matter."
"Sleep early, mate," Cody told Conner as he walked out of the room.
"Yeah, Con, Esther isn't crying anymore, and I don't think she cried," I frowned, upon remembering it.
"Oh, I know, I just wanted to play with her," he answered with a grin.
I laughed silently and looked down at Collin and Cory who was about to fall asleep. They were little cuties. Not to mention beautiful, like what Conner had said.
"Mom, I'm tired, I'm going back to sleep now, night," he quietly said, and gave me a little hug.
I smiled. "Night, Conner."
I placed the boys back onto their little beds gently and left the room.
Okay, first night.
