Chapter 25

"Nev," Cody quietly said, hugging me from the back. "I'm really sorry...and grateful."

I smiled a little. "I know, you've been apologizing for about a hundred times now," I paused for a second and swallowed my ice-cream. "but I'm not sure about what you're grateful of."

He chuckled softly. "I'm grateful because you forgave my stupid hormonal actions..." then he murmured. "But I can't entirely blame it either..." then he cleared his throat. "I'm grateful because you're willing to forgive me."

I smiled full-heartedly, and stared out at the beautiful view in front of me - A myriad of shiny stars shining brightly from the dark ocean-colored blue sky, and little gushes of wind blowing over. The full moon out-stood the whole patch of sky the most, with it's color and size. This was a beautiful scenery. Glad to be able to just enjoy it with a mood I've never had in so long and to feel my husband's warmth around me. This is happiness.

"Mom, Dad, get up, get up!" Collin and Cory jumped on the bed like crazy clowns with capital C's, just like the start of their names.

Cody groaned and pulled himself away from me. "Boys, what's happe--" he got cut off in a funny way by the one and only Collin Gerrard Simpson.

"Snowing! It's snowing, Mom, Dad, it's snowing! Can we go out and play?" Collin said in his unusual hyper-ness - he was being over-hyper today...or shall I say this morning. But, come to think of the conversation...happe-snowing. I cracked up out of the blue.

"--ning. Okay, fine, you may go out and have fun. Who else's going to?" Cody said, his voice thick is sleepiness. Totally understandable. We gazed at the night sky till it was a quarter to one in the morning, so it's really, really understandable.

"Um," Cory thought for a while. "I think Esther's going, as well as Angel...Angel didn't want to go, but she learnt about Esther going three minutes later and insisted that she went, just so she could take care of Esther, and give Collin and I supervision."

I sat up straight. "What about Conner?"

"Conner's still asleep," Cory answered.

I nodded. Yeah, get used to Conner. He's a heavy sleeper. Sometimes, although it's really cold, he wasn't the type to pull his covers up automatically or instantly, and catching a cold is his result. And winter. Early December still - he's favorite season of the year, he doesn't even notice the whether change. That boy, with his old habit.

"Ready to go?" Conner came through the door. Conner?!

"Conner?" Collin and Cory said simultaneously, turning to each other every two seconds with confused faces, which was amusing, because it was like mirror images - exactly alike.

"What's so shocking about me asking that question?" Conner chuckled, raking his hand through his hair.

"Well," Collin started. "When Cory and I went to see if you were awake, you weren't. In fact, you were sleeping like a log! We tickled your sides, your feet and your neck, but you didn't have any reaction to 'em, of course we had to act startled by your appearance now!"

Cory gasped and nodded, while I shook my head and got out of bed. "Go get dressed. I'll join you in a few."

"Mom, you're coming?" Cory asked with a smile. I nodded and pecked him on his head.

I spun around to face Cody. "Cod-" I got cut off by his abrupt snore, then laughed and went to the bathroom. Seems like Mr. Simpson's gotta catch up on his beauty sleep today!

***

"Oh, oh my gosh, Collin, you did not just do that to my bum," Angel shrieked, her mouth wide open in an O shape. I took quick shots with my cameras and laughed at what was gonna happen next.

Hey, don't call me a terrible mother. I've got my moments too. Especially when I'm still in my twenties, I've got a heart age of ten...okay, fourteen or sixteen. Yeah, I'm still hoping I could be a Disney Princess... But that's the inner side of me. In reality, I'm a model, and ready to go back any time.

Then I heard a few girly screams, and that's when I knew Collin was in deep trouble...Angel was stuffing little snow balls into his...pants.

Then I cracked up again.

No, I wasn't gonna stop her and ruin the fun, it's time Collin got a taste of his own medicine. He was the prankster out of the five in the house. Trust me, his pranks are horrible. I don't even want to continue.

"Mom, can I take a few pictures of you?" Cory asked, appearing out of nowhere. He told me once he wanted to be a photographer as he grew older, plus, he was always a Mama's Boy, but that doesn't mean I dote on him more than the rest. That's not true.

I stood in a position, and he gladly snapped many at one shot. My boy's growing up so quick. He's been running around, snapping different-angled photos, I'm getting a little worried here.

"Mom, I don't feel so well," I craned my neck and found him lying on the ground, the camera lying flat on his stomach.

"Are you okay, sweetie?" I carried him to the nearby bench. "Cory, photographers don't run around like you do. They adjust angles and snap 'em. Next time, take my advice, don't do what you did earlier, alright?"

He sighed. "Okay, Mom. I'm gonna go back and have fun!"

If I was a vampire, I'd like to know what's on his mind, but what just happened... I really, do not want to know.
