Chapter 24: Hospital

I woke up with blinding lights above my head. I looked around and realized I was in a hospital. There was other patients around me and lots of people crying. Just as I was looking around the room a big blue curtain blocked my view. The curtain went around me making a separate room from the other patients. I looked up to see who had closed it and saw a woman in a lab coat and a man in a suit starring at me. The woman had really pretty chestnut hair and brown eyes. And the man had short spike hair and a small beard. I woman was smiling and happy but the man looked very angry and upset.

The man started to walk towards me then he kneeled down my the bed I was on. "Hello. I'm investigator Darren. I'd like to ask you a few questions if that's ok." His voice was rough at the beginning then he lightened it up at the end. I nodded to him even though I didn't really want to answer questions. "How did this happen to you Lily?" Darren asked. How did it happen? All I remember was Roderick yelling and me running. Running where? "I-I was running from Roderick. I-I don't why...or where. Then I remember hiding in the bathroom and the lady. She saw me. Now I'm here." It took me a lot of work to just those out because everywhere word sent pain down my spine. Darren looked angry at me then said "why were you running?!" How was I suppose to know? He obviously has anger issues. "I-I don't know." I stammered.

The doctor that was standing at the end of my bed spoke up "remember Darren, she had a lot of head trauma. She only remembers bits and pieces." Her voice was stubborn. "Wait. I remember he was mad because he thought Justin did something that he didn't. He was coming after me...for Justin." I could barely talk still. Darren turned to me with an excited yet angry expression "who Justin? And what didn't Justin do?" God, this guy has a lot of questions. "Justin is my...friend. I don't know what Roderick thought he did..." Just then the curtain got pulled back fast and my mom came rushing in with tears all over her face. "Honey are you ok?!" I smiled at my mom "ya mom, I'm fine." Then my mom turned at glared at the investigator "aren't you not aloud to be here without a parent or guardian?" My mom was so angry that spit was flying out of her mouth.

"Actually no." Darren said "I'm aloud to question her if she says it's ok" then Darren walked out of then room. A little boy walked up to me but I didn't recognize him. Then he spoke to me "Lily, are you going to be ok?" How did he know my name?! "WHO ARE YOU?!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. The little boy got this scared look in his eyes then my mom grabbed him. "Lily, that's your brother. His name is Tom." This is all so confusing. "I-I don't know you." I said staring straight into his eyes. The nurse pulled my mom and brother to the side and started talking. By the looks of it it looked like an intense conversation. I was feeling tired so I decided to close my eyes and shortly I drifted off to sleep.
