Chapter 33: It was me

"So you wanna get some lunch?" Shawn asks scratching the back of his head.

"Okay, let me just put away my stuff."

I put my backpack away and put my phone in my pocket.

"I'm ready." I say.

He opens the door for me and I walk out. I forgot about locking the door because we were probably gonna go to the mall to get something to eat which is right down the street.

And I was right, we headed for the mall and went straight to the food court. We both got noodle with chicken from this japanese restaurant called Sarkuz.

We ate and chatted for a bit.

"Are you doing okay? Todays been rough, especially for what happened. I'm surprised you didn't kill Iris for what she did." Shawn said.

"Trust me, I wanted to. But knowing Iris, she would come back one way or another with something worse. I miss Hayes and my heart is still shattered in a million pieces, but what can I do other than cry all day."

"True."

"I have no friends, Hayes was literally my only friend and I feel like life is no worth living without him."

"Hey, don't talk like that. You have Michele, Anna, Aaliyah and.... Me." He smiles and leans over for a kiss.

I back away immediately.

"What are you doing?!"

"I'm so sorry."

"I thought Hayes was your friend. Was this your plan?!"

He looked at something behind me and I turned around to see what it was.

Aaliyah. She was crying.

"Aaliyah! What's wrong?" I run up to her.

"I can't hold it in any longer. It was me, Sofia. It was me!" She weeps.

"Aaliyah what do you mean 'it was you'?"

She cried some more and I was getting really curious.
