Chapter 21: Trust

*Hayes Pov*

I went to the kitchen with Sofia. It was just us and I had to tell her what was going on. "Sofia, Iris was planning to hurt you if I didn't break up with you. She told me if I was to go anywhere near you starting Christmas Eve (which was yesterday) that she would hurt you. Yesterday at the restaurant I wanted to tell you, but she took my phone. She told me if I left, she would hurt you right then and there. She had a..a...a knife in her purse." I admitted. "Oh Hayes." She says while bringing me into a hug. "I'll be with you every second of the day to protect you and make sure she stays away. I promise." I say looking at her in the eyes. "I love you so much." She says. "I love you more." I say as I put my head on top of her head. "Impossible." She says. We then go to the living room hand in hand. Everyone looks at us. "What?" We say in harmony. "Look up." Nash says. We both look up and see a mistletoe. "Only if it's okay with you." I say to Sofia's parents. "Of course Hayes!" They say. We both kiss in front of everyone. It felt my first kiss. It felt different. It was amazing. Everyone clapped. "CAN WE OPEN PRESENTS NOW?!" Skylynn yells as she breaks the romance. "Ugh fine." I say while laughing.

My mom distributes the gifts to everyone. Skylyynn wanted to open her gifts first. "OH MY HORSES!" She yells. She got a life size stuffed horse that is brown with blonde horse. She got all types of horse stuff. Like movies, coloring books, etc.

Nash was next. He got gift cards to clothing stores and an iPhone 6 silver. I was pretty jealous. Sofia was next. She opened a gift from me first. "Oh my gosh Hayes!" She said while opening a gold heart shaped necklace. She hugged me. "Thank you." She said. She also received gift certificates to several restaurants and perfume shops.

*Sofia's Pov*

Hayes was next to open his gifts. He got a gift card to a football store from who? From me! "Thanks Babe!" He said. He opened a gift from his parents. It was a scrapbook. The cover was an embarrassing pictures of him in the bath tub. I fell on the floor laughing. "Thanks mom and dad." He said with red cheeks. He also got football gear. The adults got wine glasses and kitchen accessories. Skylynn spent the day with her 'horses' and Hayes and I decided to walk to the mall and get some food to replace what happened on Christmas Eve.
