a sudden knock on the door distracted luke from his thoughts as he laid on his couch. he ran his fingertips through his hair, pushing a few stray pieces away from his eyes. he sighed heavily, walking towards the door to see who it was that wanted to see him this late at night.
opening the door, he saw calum standing there, looking tired and distraught. luke was assuming he must have had a late night. it wasn't an unusual thing for the tanned boy.
"you know you don't have to knock, right?" luke chuckled, seeing as they have been best friends for years. he was actually quite shocked to see calum, knowing that he would usually barge in.
ignoring his friends question, he brushed past luke, letting himself into where luke lived. this was always the first place he would think about coming when he needed something, "I need your help."
luke knitted his eye brows together and closed the door behind him, following behind calum into the living room where he recently was seated. everything was neat and tidy, just the way luke liked it. clutters made him uneasy.
"is everything okay?" luke questions, watching his friend pace back and fourth.
"what made you realize you were attracted to boys?" calum stops pacing. instead, he looks at luke, the only person he could come to with the situation he was in.
luke shrugged, "I just knew, I guess."
calum rolled his eyes, not finding any satisfaction in that answer, "did you like, find boys attractive, hot, adorable?"
for some terribly odd reason, michael popped up into the blondes mind, "yeah, I did."
calum ran his hands through the thick hair on his head, tugging on the dark roots. it looked like he had been doing that all night, his hair sticking in all different directions. he took a few steps towards luke, their body's so close they could feel the radiation of body heat.
"I need you to kiss me."
luke's eyes widened with shock. he was ready to laugh, he was ready for calum to burst out laughing and tell him it was a joke. maybe to admit he was only trying to be funny, but he stood there, with nothing but a straight face informing luke that no, he was not joking around right now.
"cal," luke vigorously shook his head, being careful not to trip over his own two feet as he took a few steps backwards to avoid anything to happen, "I cannot kiss you."
"look, I know it sounds idiotic of me, but it will mean nothing, I promise. think of it as a friendly peck on the lips," calum had pleading eyes, and no matter how desperate he looked and how much luke wanted to help him out, he knew it was not the right thing to do.
"you had sexual encounters with boys before, why is kissing me going to determine your sexuality?" luke didn't want to be the one who was tested on. he didn't want to be the one who had calum decide what gender he would prefer. their friendship was to good to do something like that. luke was not going to have it be ruined.
calum swiped his tongue over his lips, "you are someone I actually care about. the other guys were simply used for pleasure. I've never thought of myself of liking the same gender and having a relationship with one, but now I don't know anymore."
"is there someone who is making you question yourself?"
"I don't know, i mean, i think so."
"well, whoever that somebody is, I'm sure they can help you figure yourself out. don't put too much pressure on yourself about it," luke smiled at his friend, glad the topic of the two kissing was no longer the subject of the conversation.
calum let out a long breath, knowing that luke was right because most of the time he was. he was glad to have a friend like luke by his side. he always gave the right advice that claim needed.
"can we order pizza? I haven't had dinner yet," calum casually changed the subject as he shrugged off his jacket, figuring that since he was here he might as well stay for awhile.
luke nodded. he was content with his life right now. everything seemed to be going the way he had hoped for. he wasn't going to let anything change that.
