Dan's POV
For the entire taxi drive, Phil was being way more awkward than he usually was. He just sat there, tightening up, trying not to touch any of his surroundings. It was weird.
I got out of the taxi and slammed the door shut, leaving Phil to pay the taxi driver. Before long, Phil had gotten out of the other door, slamming it shut and walking around the car to meet me on the pavement.
He still stayed his distance away from me, though. He was making this situation a lot more awkward than it needed to be.
The party was being held in a reserved local bar, so we made our way inside gracefully.
It was almost as if we were the last people in here. It was packed with different youtubers and friends. Right now, a Jessie J song was pounding around the walls, hurting my ear drums. That was what was so cool about parties like this. The music could play as loud as you possibly could have it.
Just at that moment, Tyler moved over to us in sort of a dance. Drunk.
He was grinning, holding a glass of some sort of alcohol. "Hey there, sexy OTP." Tyler said, not making any sense. To be honest though, it made perfect sense; even more so when Phil had backed slowly away from me.
"Happy Birthday, Tyler." We had both said in sync, handing Tyler the present. Tyler shook his head and pointed to a table with presents on it. "Put it there." He said, almost giggling now. Phil took the present over to the table and then wandered off, probably to talk to some others.
Phil's POV
I placed the present on the table, on top of Zoe's. I was actually pretty glad to be away from Dan for a little while. You know; to think things through.
To be honest with you, I hate parties. The way it caused you to socialise with overly drunk, wannabe-Strictly Come Dancing contestants just scared me. Especially when I wasn't also drunk.
I made my way over to Chris and Pj, who seemed to be alone and acting awkward too. These were my kind of people at a party.
"Hi Chris, Peej." I said, giving them a faint smile. They could sense something was up. As always. Chris gave me a puzzled look, wondering why I was acting so strangely.
"Phil?" Pj started to question me. Oh god. "Yeah?" I asked, trying to make it sound as if nothing was up. He wasn't buying it. "Why are you acting so awkwardly? And why aren't you with Dan?" The last word sent a shiver down my spine; although, I couldn't tell whether it was a bad shiver, or a good shiver.
I shook my head. "Just leave it." I said, looking down at the floor. Chris and Pj didn't say anymore, but it was no way over. They'd come back and ask me again later. Great. Just great.
