So that was it? Ed was going to make the Philosopher's Stone without having to kill for it? That's great! Did you try the transmutation as well?
Ed wouldn't allow it. Said that I wasn't in any condition to do such a big transmutation, and he already expressed how the transmutation could kill me even without the injuries I received from battle. The fact of the matter is that transmutation took up a lot of energy that I didn't even have to begin with. Call me crazy but I still didn't trust Tucker and his word for all this. Maybe it was because what happened many years ago, but I didn't feel right about this.
Humankind cannot gain without first giving something in return. To obtain something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we thought that was the world's one and only truth.
-Alphonse Elric-
Ready, Steady can't hold me back
Ready, Steady give me good luck
Ready Steady never look back
Let's get started!
Ready Steady GO!
The landscape blows on by me,
as I roll my way forward
and even if things get desperate
I won't lose sight of the goal now!
You can take those unreliable maps and burn them up!
I'm going to take those hidden truths,
and snatch them in the palm of my hand!
Delirious, (Speedily),
I've broken through this far,
My heart is beating so loud and hard,
it feels like it's about to burst!
Your voice echoes as you call out to me,
but I just don't have the time to stop where I am
Ready, Steady, Go!
Please, trust me!!!
Ready, Steady, Go- L'arc en Ciel
What happened with Yuki and Al? Were they still okay?
Well, you'll find out soon enough. All I know is that Yuki... Saw something. By the end of our time here, I saw what she was talking about. I don't want to dwell into it right now, but what happened after Ed's choice was made. I promise, you will hear about it tonight. Trust me. Anyway, Tucker managed to find the notes relating to the topic and he showed the both of us anything retaining to it.
Ed and I knelt down to the ground reading several pages of research left behind from scientists who worked on the project prior to us picking it up. Skimming through the pages along with Ed, not leaving a single word unread. I set one of the pages down and looked up to Ed who was glancing up as well. "I think I get it now, what this facility was being used for. It was an operation to develop large scale military applications for alchemy. Or more specifically, how they could harness human alchemy to the military's advantage." Ed stated now looking up to the tubes.
