That's heavy, Pen. That's heavy. Did anyone else ever visit the grave?

Not as far as I know. I'm sure there has been some interest. I came back pretty late that night, everyone was about to get ready to go to sleep and at the time I shared a room with Wynter, Yuki, and Winry.

You didn't sleep with Ed?

No. We were still in a position where we wanted to keep our relationship as exclusive as possible. Sharing a bed wasn't the way to keep it private, besides I wasn't comfortable with that at the time. I did have a conversation with Ed before the next morning, it was rather interesting.

Stepping inside the kitchen I saw Ed sitting down at the table, his back facing the entrance so I couldn't see his face. I unbuttoned my vest and peeled it off my shoulders with ease and walked closer. Before I could do anything I looked around to make sure no one was around, and then leaned forward and wrapped my arms around his shoulders. "Long day?" I questioned.

He nodded and placed his hands on my wrists. "Yeah, she saw through us pretty quickly."

"I think she's seeing through me..."

"How do you figure?"

I shook my head and shrugged at his question indifferently. Looking over to him I saw his head was lowered, I couldn't figure out what he was thinking for the life of me. My chin rested on his shoulder and I softly closed my eyes. "So, what happens next?"

He shrugged and placed his hand on the side of my head, pulling our heads together so they touched. Ed sighed and then opened his eyes just as mine slid open. "Hey Penelope, did I ever tell about how were tested in that month?" Our eyes met, his gold eyes burning into my blue orbs intentively. I shook my head and released him. With a small smile Ed pat a spot next to him and let out a small laugh. "It's actually a funny story really, now that I think about it." He started as I took my place next to him. "I was with Joslyn and Al at the time, we arrived in Dublith but we were taken to this island and told us to figure out this saying. 'One is all, all is one'."

Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one and only truth.

Alphonse Elric

Lie awake in bed at night

And think about your life

Do you want to be different?

Try to let go of the truth

The battles of your youth

'Cause this is just a game

Everyone's looking at me

I'm running 'round in circles

I've got to remember this is just a game

It's a beautiful lie

It's a perfect denial

Such a beautiful lie to believe in

So beautiful, beautiful lie makes me
