Yuki's POV

Flashback

Getting rest appeared to help the heaviness my body felt prior in the Fifth Laboratory. With the atrocities that took place there, I'm glad that place crumbled to ground. The things in there, scared me. Barry was still alive, it brought up questions similar to this, 'how many criminals have the government spared'. And that girl, she looked so much like Penelope back when we first met. Almost as if she didn't age at all. The way she spoke about killing Penelope, if things didn't turn out the way they did she could have succeeded. I could only assume that was her younger sister.

Speaking of which, Penelope was almost dead when we left, saving Ed like that took up so much energy. I'm glad she did what she did but still. As of right now she was just pulled out of critical condition and is resting with several broken ribs, a stab wound on the road to healing, and her condition before gradually got worse. Seeing her sister like that, must have really sent her over the edge. I want to ask her as many questions as I can when she wakes up, if she wakes up.

I stepped out of her room after a while with a small sigh. When Ed wakes up he should try and visit Penelope, just so he knows how she's doing, maybe Al as well. Stepping into the room I saw Ross and Brosh standing near Ed's bed with Al sitting in the corner. He sat there, silent without any words spoken to greet me, I hoped everything that what Barry told him at the Fifth Lab didn't effect him terribly. Ross caught my attention by turning to me and walking in my direction. "How's she doing?" She asked with concern still in her voice.

"She's resting right now, the doctors say she might wake up tomorrow. The end of the week at the latest." I explained. "What about them?"

Before Ross could even tell me an answer Brosh let out a gasp and snapped my head over to the direction of him. "Hey! He's waking up!"

I walked towards the bed now seeing what Brosh stated was in fact true. A mental sigh of relief washed over my body now watching his face twist and turn as he started wake up. His eyes snapped open quickly and he sat up quickly. "Where's Al and Penelope!?" He demanded only to wince at the pain in his side.

Looking past me the first sight of Al was in pieces and he didn't realize what he saw until moments later. My eyes softened at how his eyes remained locked on his brother. "Penelope is in another room resting right now... She should be waking up soon."

Humankind cannot gain without first giving something in return. To obtain something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we thought that was the world's one and only truth.
