Penelope's POV

Present

Both Fawn and I sat at the table, in complete darkness with my fingers tapping on the table nervously. We were waiting for a word back on the lights. The power went out, which I assumed the fault of that was the thunderstorm going on outside, I mean it makes sense. The door behind me opened up making me turn back and see Mr.Sullivan stepping inside with his hand raised wiping the sweat off his forehead. "How are the lights? Did we lose power because of the storm?" Fawn questioned leaning forward with his hands on the table.

He grunted and sat down between Fawn and I. "We might have if someone didn't tamper with our electricity last night, some wires were cut. A handyman is on his way right now to fix the mess for us. Don't worry Penelope, we'll get the generator powered up for you. The only problem is that it may take a while." Looking over to the picture on my desk I saw frames with Jamie and I together in the orphanage, smiling like it was the end of the world. The next one had Yuki with the Rockbell sisters helping out with the creation of someone else's automail while I made a goofy face in the background behind the two sisters. One had was a picture of Joslyn, Ed, and Al having a nice conversation before the chaos began to settle in, especially with the Philosopher's Stone. Finally the last picture was of Ed and I, sitting next to each other with our hands touching and my head resting on his shoulder, clearly in a state of solitude. My eyes soften as I glanced down to the table. "Penelope?"

"Take as much time as you like, Mr.Sullivan. I need to choose my next words on air very wisely." I stated in a firm voice. This is when things started to get personal, things I haven't thought about like this a while. It was a shame I can't relive the happiest memories, instead these moments are just pictures in my mind.

Humankind cannot gain without first giving something in return. To obtain something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we thought that was the world's one and only truth.

Ready, Steady give me good luck

Ready Steady never look back

Let's get started!

Ready Steady GO!

The landscape blows on by me,

as I roll my way forward

and even if things get desperate

I won't lose sight of the goal now!

You can take those unreliable maps and burn them up!

I'm going to take those hidden truths,

and snatch them in the palm of my hand!

Delirious, (Speedily),

I've broken through this far,

My heart is beating so loud and hard,

it feels like it's about to burst!
