I stand out in the freezing rain, watching my father and mother hug for the last time before he sets of to battle. "Be good, don't be trouble for your mother, and take care of your sister." "Yes father." He kissed my forehead and I hug him for it may be the last time I could ever see him again. Truly I pray it's not.
"Come on now Abila." I slowly walk up the steps to our house and sadly watch my father wave goodbye to me as he disappears down the road. "We have much to do today. I need to go to the bakery get some bread, then to the market to get few things. You know we can't eat too much now so no more seconds." "Yes ma'am." "Alright, go get dressed." I go up the stairs to go change and fix myself up a bit.
"Abila Noel come on I would like to get the chores done." "Coming mother." I quickly come down the stairs and throw on my coat. "Come on now Lillie." I pick up my little sister, put her on my hip, and start walking behind my mother to the bakery.
Time Laps
"Dinner was very good mother." "I'm glad you enjoyed it. Now go you and your sister go wash up for bed." "Yes ma'am come on Lillie." She stretches her arms out and I pick her up taking us up stairs to bathroom. I finally get us both clean after Lillie insisted that she splash me for a few minutes, I get us into out nightgowns and tuck her in. "Aba." "Yes Lillie?" "Whill daddy come back howme?" "Of course he will, as soon as he fights all the bad monsters he will be right back here." "Okay. Goodniwght Aba." "Goodnight Lillie." I kiss her forehead and pull the sheets over her tucking her in. I get in bed and stare at the ceiling for few moments. Father please be safe and come home.
