I was putting on earrings when I heard Hazel open the door.Their voices were muffled so I couldn't hear them too well.
"Meeel!" I heard Hazel yell. "Coming!" I yelled back, while slipping on my mom's high heels.
They started to hurt as soon as I got up!
I opened the door and began to walk down the stairs when all of a sudden...
... I tripped!
I tumbled from stair to stair, each hurting me more.
When I got to the bottom, I was so dizzy, I just stared at the sealing.
Zack picked me up and we started laughing.
"Sorry!" I said, embarrassingly, as the laughter abated.
"No need" he said back. "You look... Wow!"
"You too!"
I smiled.
He smiled.
Hazel gave us a weird look.
"Should we go?" Zack asked.
"Not before I take pictures!" Hazel said, pulling us back.
"This isn't prom", I told her.
"Just do it!" She snapped angrily.
We made a cute pose as Hazel took a picture.
"You guys are growing up so fast!" She said while making a fake crying face.
"I just met you last month", I told her.
"Ok, you crazy kids! Go have some fun! But bring her back by 10!" Hazel said.
"Ok, mom!" Zack said.
Then we left.
We got into Zack's car and he turned on music.
The first song that turned on was That's My Kind of Night by Luke Bryan.
"You can change it if you want to" he said.
"No way!" I told him. "I love this song!"
"You like country music?" He asked me.
"Yeah, it's my favorite style!"
"Me too!" He replied.
It surprised me a little. I wouldn't think of him as a country music person.
"Hazel hates it though. She likes pop music more. Katy Perry's like her idol." He said.
"You too are really like brother and sister" I told him.
"Yeah," he said. "We're pretty close."
We kept driving for another ten minutes, rocking out to the Rascal Flats, when pulled into an old restaurant.
"Here we are!" He exclaimed.
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"we're here for our date", he said as he led me inside.
It was huge! There were a lot of tables, paintings, and a huge chandelier hung from the sealing.
It was breathtaking!
"Zack... This... This is gorgeous!" I yelled from the other side of the room.
"It is..." He said. "....and it used to be mine."
I walked over to him.
"What?"
"I owned this place last year when my parents both had good jobs. When my dad became unemployed, we lost so much money. It had to go."
"Zack, I'm sorry." I told him.
"Hey! We're not here for a sob story, we're here for some fun!" He said. "Follow me!"
We went into the kitchen and he taught me how to make his famous spaghetti.
We ate it and had a great time!
We were talking about Blake Shelton when my phone rang
It was a call from Dr. Steve, my mom's doctor at the hospital.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Melody. This is doctor Steve. We have some news for you but you need to come down to the hospital to hear it."
"I'm on my way", I told him.
