I feel like everyone stares at you when you walk through the halls with a red slip. Everybody knows that you did something wrong. Sometimes it's a good feeling, and sometimes it's not.As I walked into the office, I noticed something was different. Then I realized that it was the smell. I couldn't pick out a certain scent, but it smelled really good, unlike the usual old lady smell.
I kept walking. Then I saw it. The most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. It was a guy. He had blondish- brownish hair combed back in the front. He had sparkling blue eyes with long, batting eyelashes and a smile that I can't even explain!
That was the smell! Oh how badly I wanted to just sit and stare at him... which I did... until I hear principal Rae.
"Miss Summers?" She stood right behind me. "Yes ma'am?" I replied. "You may follow me."
Her office was big. Much bigger than I expected. She pointed to a chair facing her desk. "Please sit." I sat down as she took my red slip and read it over.
She kept nodding and saying "I see" constantly. Then she looked up, her face confused. "So you.... You forgot.... Your homework?"
"Yes ma'am."
"And your teacher... She sent you here... for this?"
"Yes ma'am"
"Because you didn't turn in your homework assignment?"
"Yes ma'am"
She put her face in her hands. "Once again Vasquez, once again...." She said as she shook her head.
"Wait, she's done this before?" I asked confused. "More than just this", she answered. "I've been trying to get rid of Vasquez for years."
I stared at her blankly. Did she just say what I think she said? That she wants my devil of a teacher fired? But she's the principal! Why couldn't she just fire her?
"What's stopping you?" I asked her. "Her husband is the superintendent, a.k.a my boss. I fire her he fires me." She replied.
I was shocked. "Superintendent Vasquez is married to my teacher?" I was surprised that I had not put that together before.
Principal Rae gave me a note to give to Ms. Vasquez telling her that I will not be serving detention.
"What? No!" I said. "Can I please still have detention?"
She looked confused. "But you haven't done anything wrong."
I shoved everything off of her desk and left a giant mess on the floor. "Now I have", I said as I took a detention slip and left.
I walked to the detention hall after school with excitement. Now's my chance to finally be noticed!
I put my hand on the door to the detention room and felt a rush of energy flow through me. I opened the door and walked in.
"YOU! SIT DOWN!" The teacher screamed before I even got the chance to look at her. I quickly found a seat and looked up at the dark dead eyes that were staring into my soul. I knew I recognized the voice.
"Vasquez..........." I said in my breath.
