Dean's POV

"God, I don't know what to do."

Everything that has happened since we left Bobby's has been nothing but hell. This wasn't supposed to happen.

Jackie was supposed to return to her father, hunt with him and live with him like a family should.

This wasn't supposed to happen.

Getting out of the car, I lean against the hood. Finally I decide to make the phone call. The one I've been putting off for the longest time now. I just refuse to accept that Jackie is now homeless with no where to go, and that her father, the last bit of family she had, is gone.

I can't push the facts aside any longer, so I call Sam. Hopefully he'll answer.

"Hey Dean." He answers on the third ring.

I don't answer right away, I just stay silent.

"Dean, is everything okay?"

I let out a sigh and close my eyes. "No, everything is not fine.

"What happened? Are you okay? Where's Jackie?" He rambles off several questions that I honestly have no idea how to answer.

"Look, Sam, something happened. I need you to get Bobby on the phone, too. He needs to here this."

"Alright, hold on." There's ruffling through the speaker followed by a beep, telling me I'm now on speaker.

"Dean," I hear the now present Bobby say. "You better tell me what the hell is going on before I come find you and beat it out of you."

"Dammit," I whisper. How in the world do I tell them I can't just come out and say it.

Actually, its probably best if I do.

I run my fingers through my hair, then heavily dropping my arm to my side, decide to just let it all out.

"Look, I dont know how it happened or why or basically anything. I don't know squat."

I get interrupted by Sam. "Dean, what the hell, come on."

"Fine." Letting out a slow breath, I say it. "When we got to Jackie's house, it was on fire. Not like a small fire- the whole thing was up in flames." I pause. "Her dad was inside."

I don't hear a single thing on the other end of the line. Not even a shuffle of feet or breathing. "Jackie's with me and she's got Zeke but that's about it."

A collection of colorful words escapes Bobby's mouth followed by a slamming noise.

"Look, I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I just watched Jackie's whole life go up in flames and I'm trying my best to keep it together because I have just experienced the biggest feeling of deja vu I've ever experienced. Now I'm sitting at some gas station in the middle of nowhere with no clue what I'm doing!"

I try to keep it together, but the severity of the situation has finally hit me. The only thought running through my head is what caused the fire, because nothing just 'happens' when you're a hunter.

"Dean, just head back here. We'll figure it out once you guys are back and safe," Sam tells me.

Sensing the lack of a person on the other side of the line, I ask, "where's Bobby?"
