Jackie's POV
"Aerona Vaska?"
A small, older looking woman creaks open the front door to a modest yet welcome looking apartment. Standing on the small porch in the chilly morning air, the three of us huddle in our jackets as the white haired woman peaks her head around the door.
Sam stands in front, questioning the lady in a kind matter. No sooner does he ask her name before she says in return, "You must be the Winchesters."
The worn, wooden door opens up wider and the petite witch in front of us gestures for us to enter. Taking in her small stature and her overall frail looking appearance, I mentally question Bobby.
Most powerful witch he's ever come across? Sure.
But if Bobby says so, I'll give her a chance.
Sam, Dean, and I step carefully inside, welcomed by warmth and a plethora of different scents- from what I can tell, mostly herbs and spices. The smell doesn't settle well with my recovering stomach, but so far, I decide that she's the typical witch.
Taking care to wipe our feet on the welcoming mat, we follow the lady into her front room. Furnished with somewhat antique-looking chairs and sofas, the overall 'witch appearance' is definitely there. The stacks upon stacks of old books, journals, jars of spell ingredients, and an endless amount of other witchcraft items also lends a kind hand to the impression.
"Ma'm, I'm Sam, and this is my brother, Dean," Sam begins to introduce, nodding to Dean who gives a kind smile at the lady. I can still see skepticism in his eyes over trusting the witch, but he hides it well. Sam then gestures towards me. "And this is-"
"Jackie Kaiser." Aerona, who comes up to about my shoulder in height, stops right in front of me and takes my gloved hands in hers. She gives them a gentle squeeze.
"You look just like your mother." Her eyes glass over with a heartwarming look as she looks me up and down. "Except for those eyes. Those- those are your father's."
I was taken aback for a moment. "You knew my parents?"
"Of course, dear. Why do you think Bobby sent you to me?" I stand confused, and from the looks on Sam and Dean's faces, I'd say they were in the same boat as me. I make a mental note to ask Bobby about it later.
"Well come on in, everybody. I don't bite." Aerona gestures once more to a sofa, then sits herself down in an armchair. The furniture doesn't necessarily look comfortable, but nonetheless, the three of us pile onto the sofa with myself in the middle. Aerona offers us tea and coffee, but we kindly decline.
Personally, I'm shocked by every aspect of this woman that I've seen so far. For a witch, she's so... Sincere. Never have I ever met a witch who was so much as friendly. Witches are usually the stuck up and idiotic people Dean had described them as on the drive here. He was spot on with my own opinion of the creatures.
But, I'll have to admit, Aerona's personality isn't bad. It's a nice change, and I don't mind it. Not at all.
"I'm sure Bobby told you why we're here?" Dean asks.
"Bobby said a lot of things. But he did bring up a mark of some sorts," she answers. "He wasn't very clear but when I heard your name, Jackie, I figured why not try and help."
I shake my head, not at all shocked at Bobby's vagueness. "It's not that simple but yes. A mark," I state with a hopeful smile.
"Aerona, are you familiar with the Angel of Death?" Sam inquires, jumping straight to business.
