Connies POV:

I shudder at the thought of being a ghost, but the Sadie thing was kinda freaky. He just kept repeating my name over and over again, like she was a broken record. I float over to her and reach out the touch her hand.

"Connie, Connie, Connie." She repeats but once my fingers brush hers, she leaps up and screams. "LARS! I ALMOST FORGOT TO TELL YOU!" She runs over to him and starts whispering in his ear.

"Connie and Steven haven't returned from there mission. Well, I see Steven here a couple of times, but otherwise no word from them." I sigh with relief. Good, Sadie can't see me, cause then that would be a whole other problem. Lars shrugs and rolls his eyes.

"And why should I care?" He says with a hint of annoyance. Sadie stares at him with disbelief before punching him in the arm.

"Because there our friends, doofus!" She scoffs and goes back to the counter. Lars groans, and sits down next to her.

"Where did they go again?" He asks. Sadie shrugs.

"I don't know, but word is going around that they are back at the kindergarten. Or at some garden maze. Don't ask me how I know, I just have a feeling they are there." I think as hard was I can.

A maze, in a garten? I heard that before. Field maze? Or was it Pink flower maze, or even Pink Maze? No, Pearl told me this before. I shake my head. Think Connie! If Pearl likes it, and it's somewhere in a peaceful pink place, then- Oh my god, they went to Rose's Maze. I dive out of the store and run to Steven's warp pad.

Let's hope it works... I think hopefully to myself. I almost die, again, from happiness. When I see blue light surround me, making that majestic noise, I dance. When a tall maze comes in to view, I squeal. I float through the maze, trying to spot or hear Steven's voice, but instead I'm greeted with a smooth as water voice.

"Jasper, where do we go now?"

"Left, my diamond" I moan and stick my tongue out at Yellow Diamond's back.

"Okay, if we catch up to the Crystal Gems, show no mercy Jasper. We take back my Connie, and we demolish the Crystal Gems. Got it?" Yellow Diamond says, looking at her nails. Jasper salutes her and nods. She smiles, then sighs. "I just need my warrior to take down that magic...uh, hybrid." That sentence makes my blood boil with rage. I have to go find Steven, and some how warn them about Yellow Diamond.

"My diamond, if I recall correctly, at the beginning of the maze, you said you and Rose have a history together? Mind if you tell the story?" Jasper asks curiously.

"Fine. It all started back on home world. Me and Rose were..." Their voices fade as I go to search for Steven.

STEVEN'S POV:

Connie's body was fading fast. Half of her was gone, while the other half was going grey.

"Garnet we must hurry!" Pearl shouts at her. Garnet nods and runs a little faster.

"Garnet, stop." Amethyst says from behind me. "Please, Connie's not going to make it."

"No, Amethyst." Pearl interrupts. She turns and faces me. "Steven, how much does Connie mean to you?"

I stay silent before answering. "Pearl, she means the world to me. I would rather have my self take the shield to the head, that her. I would trade places with her in a heartbeat." Pearl smiles and nods.

"Good, because," She turns to Garnet. "Take one more right and we will be at the center." With that, I grab her gray body, and take a right. The center was breath taking. The Maze walls shrunk down into tiny bushes, with small pink roses dotting over them. A fountain that was shaped like a rose, had crystal clear water, falling down from the petals of the flower. The sky opened up, with a dusty pink color, with white clouds pushing there way through. The grass was soft and green, with white flowers growing up from them. In the middle was a square house, made out of quartz. Pearl points us in there.

"Quickly, theres no more time to waste." She takes Connie from me and runs in. My heart swells up a bit when I realize that this is the first human, that Pearl really cared about and wanted to save. I follow her in the room and gasp.

The walls are made out of solid gold with a few touches lighting up the room, and the floors mage out of diamond. A stone operating-like table rests in the middle of it.

"Here," Pearl places her down. "Here's the moment where one of us says goodbye." She meets my eye first before looking at Garnet and Amethyst. I slowly raise my hand.

"I-I'll do it, Pearl. It is my fault she is in this situation. Also, I said I would trade places with her in a heartbeat." Pearl closes her eyes, and grabs Connie and mines hand.

"Think of nothing Steven. Except you laying on that table." I picture exactly that, except my thoughts get disrupted when the door burst open.

"Hello, Steven!" Yellow Diamond grins smugly. "I have came for my warrior and my fight."
