Part 8:Corruption

This chapter is about how the halcyon corrupted and they became mortal again and fight for survival. Will they encounter Sean, the man who killed Alex's parents? lol, you will know sooner. Alex's POV
It's been a week since BlackFeather's attempt to kill me. Also a week since... Me and Kestrel's kiss. Kestrel and I hang out like every single day and she hardly left my side. She would lean on my shoulder every now and then and we been together really close. Every so often we can see the team spying on us and trying to figure out the big idea, but so far they haven't got it. That's always a relief and a disappointment.
"Morning!" Kestrel walked up to me during breakfast and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I can see Taka kaku to spy on us. I gave her a soft hug and she sat down next to me. This week we have another fight. But this time we get to pick the hero to go fight. Last week Celeste, Koshka, and Catherine dominated the whole entire enemy team. Talk about girl power. As we all sat down to choose the heroes, Catherine poked me and said "just a quick word." I nodded and gave Kestrel a soft kiss and followed Catherine. Once we were alone, she asked me "so how are you going with Kestrel?" She smirked. "Why do every single one of you ask this question?" I sighed. "A few dates and that's about it..." "You should know something. Kestrel's my daughter." My jaw dropped in shock. So my godmother's daughter is my girlfriend... "Nothing to worry about, I am just curious." She laughed. "On a serious account, though. Take care of her, will you? BlackFeather isn't better than you." I nodded. She pat me on my shoulder and we went back to the hall. When we got back, Taka said "we agreed to go with this load out. Alex, you, Kestrel, and Catherine are going." Sounds good?" I opened my mouth to argue, but Ringo shoved his hand in front of me and said" that will do." He smirked at me. Sometimes I just don't get them.
Catherine's POV
As far as Alex and Kestrel goes, I am really satisfied, so is my husband, Ringo. We knew Alex is a great choice for her and they are perfect for each other. It's happy to see my friend's son is together with my own daughter. I grabbed my oc-shield (I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT THING IS, I JUST KNOW THAT CUZ CATHERINE SAY IT 😭😭😭) and set for the helicopter.
Ketsrel's POV
I don't know what mom and dad are thinking. True, we love each other but they keep telling me to be patient because we all know Alex have a horrible sense of romance. I grabbed my bow and my halcyon arrows and went to Alex's room.
When I arrived, I knocked gently on his door. That's how he knows that it's me. He opened the door and let me in. His room is always decorated with tablets, runes, and spell books. He look so cute when he is focused on his book. I sat on his bed as he put on his piranha hoodie. "You look cute in that." I said. "Thanks! It's my favorite, too." He gave me a soft kiss on my cheek and we held our hands together as we walked to the helicopter.

As we got off the helicopter and took our position in our sanctuary, I whispered to Alex " lemme jungle" he gave me a thumbs up and we all ran to 0ur objectives.
Alex's POV
As I ran out onto the lane, a woman with a mech suit from the other side took her position and aimed at me. I dodged out of her rapid fire. She's like that crazy SAW that shoots like maniac. I killed some lane minions and that's when something caught me off guard. A berserker and a man with a spear jumped out of nowhere and started attacking me. It was a three on one. I signalize do Cath and Kestrel to lane because I was outnumbered, and that's when I heard that berserker yelled "BEATING MY HUSBAND?!I WILL BEAT YOU UP!" I remembered, last match I fought the one I was killing the most was... SAW. So I knew what that meant. So that woman's husband was SAW... But who was that man? I know it's not BF, and it's not Ardan... He was definitely not a freaking wolf... So who was he? I tried to run to them to create a distraction because Catherine and Kestrel was here, and that's when that man grabbed me into the jungle shop. As soon as we reached that brush, he let go of me. "What's the big idea?!" I said, half scared, half confused. " hey calm down... Your dad wouldn't wanted us hurt." He said calmly. "I am Sean." Rage suddenly flow over me. I grabbed him by his neck and said "You! You bastard! You killed my parents!" My eyes glow with flames as I see him struggle. "Wait... Yo-you don't k-know ev-everything..." He managed to make out those words. "I pointed my wand at him and said "you murdered my parents, that's all I need to know." He manage to free himself and coughed a few times before he stood up and said "I will tell you everything if you calm down..." I stared at him suspiciously and lowered my wand. Instead of attacking me, he threw a halcyon potion at me and said "drink that, you look beaten up. I still have doubts, I took a sip and it taste alright. When I finished, I asked him " why did you bring me here?" He let out a heavy sigh. "Everyone thought I murdered your parents because I was with them... But I didn't care what others think. I just need to tell you the truth about what happened." He handed me a small bottle and said " once you get back to your base, drink this. You will know everything. " I took it and asked him "how do I make sure this isn't a trick?" I said. He took out his wand and tapped my hand and his. I knew what he had done. He made the life and death spell. Which means if I get hurt, he will suffer the same. It wears off eventually, but this is very dangerous. I didn't know what to say, so I teleported back to the base and continued to fight.
