After his "bath" he sat down on his bed. He needed a blade. Just one to end this all. His stupid, miserable life.

He just needed one. Single. Blade. That was it. But his mum had locked every single cupboard and drawer to prevent her son from picking up anything that he could harm himself with.

It sounded stupid and childish, but he couldn't help it. It gave him a sense of relief, somehow.

Just the cool metal pressed into his skin, digging deeper and deeper until he had a wound. He hadn't told anyone about his scars until his mum had realized that Calum wasn't wearing his tank tops and sleeveless shirts anymore.

Let's just say that Joy didn't take it well. She burst into tears and locked every cupboard and drawer, and confiscated every single sharp item in the house.

Every. Last. One.

She even childproofed the stove top, the tables and wouldn't let him go outside. You might think it sounded crazy, but his mum was doing it for his own good.

Mali tried to have a little fun with her little brother by inviting over Ashton, Michael and Luke. At 5.36 [nine] in the afternoon.

Calum had stayed in his room.

In the end, Michael had ended up somehow unlocking his door from the outside.

He then ran in screaming, "CALUM GET YOUR LAZY BUTT OUTTA BED!" and jumped on him, almost crushing Calum.

Luke then followed after with Ashton topping off the pile.

"Ashton!" Michael yelled. "I'm getting crushed!"

"Me too!" Luke added.

Calum threw his head back and groaned. Ashton cussed under his breath and rolled off of them.

He then giggled. It seemed like Ashton never seemed to laugh, he always giggled. But if he did laugh, Calum had never heard it.

"Cal!" Mali shouted. "There's some pizza here for you!"

Michael was our the door in 0.2 seconds. Luke, Calum and Ashton followed suit.

"I'm not paying for it!" Mali said, walking away. The four boys all looked at each other before the three blondie's shouted "Dibs not!"

Calum groaned again. He always had to pay for the food. He took a twenty-dollar note from his wallet and opened the door.

He almost stopped breathing at the girl in front of him. She was tanned, a bit paler than Calum, tall with long brown - almost black - hair and the same coloured eyes as Calum's hair. And his hair was dark.

She could've been pretty, apart from the fact the her cheeks were sunken and her arms and legs were stick-thin.

"Hi." He tried to start a conversation with her.

"Uh, hi," she replied awkwardly.

"How-?"

"$20, please." She sounded exasperated.

He had failed to start a conversation. He just wanted to bury himself to hide from his embarrassment.

He reluctantly handed the note over and they exchanged, their fingers brushing slightly. She kept a straight face while he jumped a bit from the shock, almost dropping the pizzas.

"Cal what's tak- oh, hey Bella."

"Hi, Mali."

"How's the or-?"

"It's fine," she cut Mali off.

"Um, what's the 'or' mean?"

"Something you row with," Michael interrupted, snatching the pizzas out of Calum's grasp.

"Hey!" Calum protested. Mali smiled at Stick-Girl Bella. "I guess I'll see you around?"

"Not likely," Bella muttered before turning around and walking away.
