"Bella? Bella!"

"I'm sorry sir, but I'm going to have to ask you to leave," said a nurse in the ugly blue outfit hospital people wore.

"I won't leave her until her heart's beating again!"

"Sir-"

"Make her heart start again. I know you can."

"I'm not going to repeat mys-"

"I refuse to leave this room until her heart is beating again," Calum said, voice so low and menacing it scared even himself.

The nurse swallowed and nodded, too scared to do anything else but that simple action.

Calum stroked his hand once over Bella's hair, pressing a light kiss to her forehead before whispering "It's gonna be okay. I promise."

And then they took her out.

A few hours later, Calum was told that if he was going to be waiting, he may as well stay the night because Bella's condition wasn't getting any better.best to return Bella to him. He just responded with another nod.

She asked if he wanted to see her. Another nod. He didn't trust his voice at the moment to speak without it cracking.

"I-I just can't help but feel like this is my fault, y'know?"

Calum was speaking to the nurse, trying to think that she knew what he was talking about, and she did.

He rested his hand on the rail of a spare hospital bed, disliking how cold the poles were.

He had never liked hospitals, with them always smelling of chemicals and death, sickness and other things he hated.

The room was silent for a few minutes, with the sound of his and the nurse's breathing.

The mean nurse came back in with a clipboard held in her chubby hands.

"We've run a few tests, Mr. Hood. And we think you won't like the results."

"Can... can you tell me please?" He hated how weak his voice sounded, thick with emotion.

"Ever since Bella was diagnosed with her anorexia, she stopped coming here. We sent her pills through the post [idk if you can actually do that] and by the look of her tests, she hasn't been taking them."

"What?"

"Bella was purposefully avoiding her medication for an unknown reason."

"So this means?"

"She's awake-"

"Thank f*ck."

The nurse looked a bit appalled at his language but continued anyway.

"But she's in a coma."
