7. The day which changed their lives...part 3

Then to lighten up the mood they asked each other about their hobbies etc. Then Anirudh looks at her and realoses that she was still not comfortable talking to him. So in a serios tone he asks her

'Is this the first time you are meeting somebody for a marriage proposal?'

She looks at him nervously and then speaks

'Yes actually I don't know what is to be said in such conversations. My cousins who are married had a love marriage so such meetings where out of question so...' He smiled at her and replied

'Same here I also don't know what is to be done?'

Mustering some courage she asks him her previous doubt about him

'Are you not ready to get married? You seemed to be stressed out and lost in thought when you entered. If you are not ready or like somebody I will accept it and don't worry I will say no to my parents so that it won't be a problem for you to tell your parents'

as she said that she crossed her fingers she didn't want to listen any negative reply from him because she surely liked him but didn't want to pressurise him for anything. He was shocked

'How come she realised that he was not ready for marriage right now'..without thinking much he asked her

'How come you realised that?'

Listening that her heart sunk

'So he was not ready for marriage so surely he must be involved with someone or he didn't like me but didn't want to hurt his mother's feelings so came here' she thought to herself. Realising that her face dropped hearing his words he immediately continued

'It's not about you. It's just that I want to first settle down in life, I want to compose more musics for more movies,earn a lot of moneys before marriage so that my wife doesn't have to sacrifice her happiness'

She didn't know whether it was his honesty or his thought that impressed her the most. She just smiled at him and said

'There is nothing called 'my' in a realtionship. It is always 'our', when a wife can share a luxurious room with her husband why can't she share his ups and downs with him. A coin has two sides,one is good one is bad. Is there a guarantee that the life of comfort you would provide to your wife would be static... What will you do if God forbid you face finacial crisis after marriage,will you tell her to leave you..? I respect your decision and I will tell my parents that our thoughts and ideas about lives didn't match so we will not proceed with this proposal' she said that last sentence in a barely audible tone. She was surely not happy about the whole situation but didn't want to pressurise him. She indirectly tried to tell him that she didn't mind sharing his responsibility but it was upto him whether he really wanted to accept it or not.

Listening to her thoughts he was shaken. Nobody ever had explained to him a relationship in such a simple and effective manner. He certainly wished to proceed with this proposal bet her last sentence broke his hope. She said she would reject this proposal and he thought to himself who was he to snatch her happiness. She might not want to marry him but he was happy that he could meet her everyday and he just wished for her happiness and so he politely with a sad tone replied

'So this is not working,so how are we going to break this news to our parents?'

Hearing him say that she certainly lost all her hopes he doesn't want to marry her. So she replied with a broken heart

'I guess we must tell them privately. If we tell them now they may feel uncomfortable to face each other, so for time being we will tell them that we want time to think. What do you think?'

'Okay we can do that' he replied blankly. He didn't know why was he feeling this saddened because everything was going as per his wish. He didn't want to marry and now he was free but when he got up to leave the room to join their parents,he certainly had no idea. Should he be happy or sad?

They joined their parents in the living room. Seeing them all excited about their reply. Both of them plastered a fake smile on their faces when in reality their heart was in a turnoil. As they appeared their mothers started asking them whether they liked each other or not. Before they could reply their fathers spoke and said that it is better to talk privately as Anirudh and Kavisha wouldn't be comfortable talking about it in front of each other. So Anirudh and his parents then rose to take their leave. As they were proceeding towards the door,Anirudh turned around towards Kavisha and said

'Bye see you on Saturday'

and their parent's faces turned towards them and a smile crept on their faces.

Kavisha didn't want to raise their hopes so she immediately replied

'No we are not meeting on a personal basis, he asked me to come to his studio for help him to compose a new song'

Their parents were shocked. Now they were worried for some other reasons like Anirudh and Kavisha would be working in the studio. What is this doesn't work,how are they going to face each other everyday.. But none of them expressed their thoughts and then Anirudh and his parents left Kavisha's house. 

After a while when they could privately talk to their parents both Anirudh and Kavisha informed them about their decision. Kavisha's parents were concerned about her because how was she going to face Anirudh daily in studio because looking at her they understood that she was not happy about this whole thing but didn't say it loud. They didn't want to upset her even further.

At Anirudh's house everybody was upset especially her mother because Anirudh rejected a polite and lovely girl. She observed it minutely and realised he himself was not happy with this decision. But she didn't point it out, so it doesn't get complicated even further.

Then after Anirudh's and Kavisha's mothers called each others and informed about their decisions. They were sad but valued their children's decision.

Finally at night Anirudh and Kavisha were lying on their beds restless. They couldn't take each others face out of their thought for once. 

Somebody has said rightly

the more you try to forget things the more you tend to think about it.

Thinking about each other,they drifted off to sleep.. The last thought they had was how where they going to face each other on Saturday??

This surely was a hell of a day..
