39. Preparation & Invitation!!!

1 month before the wedding.

Poorva was at Kavisha's house busy finalizing the rituals they were going to conduct.

Each one of their relatives wanted at least one of the ritual they suggested, finally Poorva picked out some interesting ones that were famous and were common or were seen on tv or films so that explaining it would be easier.

As she was done finalizing the details, she went to Kavisha's grandma who was Poorva's partner in crime. It was their idea to conduct a so called different wedding *sigh*

Kavisha's grandma was in her room when Poorva excitedly walked in.

'Paattii..'

Saying this she directly hugged her because Kavisha's grandma had warned all the girls that they would never touch her feet because they were 'laxmi' of their family and because Kavisha's grandma didn't have a daughter so she loved to pamper Kavisha, her cousins and even Poorva and Paru. Because for her they were like Kavisha.

Grandma smiled at her and said

'So commando ready with her blue print'

'Yes ma'am..'

Poorva gave her a salute and they both giggled at their childishness.

Grandma made her sit on the bed and then sat next to her and said

'So..on a serious note..Everything ready'

'Yes paattii..everything is ready!! The rituals we are going to conduct are majorly taken from Tamilian, Bengali, Punjabi, Malayalee, and Telugu cultures.'

Grandma smiled at her and said

'Good but what about Malaysian style? Kavisha paavem la? Ave Malaysian ponnu thaane?'

'Aahh..paattii maranthudden..okay and malaysian cultures,okay va?'

'Good but have you talk to the priest about all these rituals, he must know how to..'

Before she could say anything further Poorva said

'Paatti I talked to iyer he said that all the rituals we have selected are some way or the other carried out in every culture so not to worry'

'Okay then..good luck..I guess till the end of this wedding you could become a wedding planner?'

Poorva whole heartedly laughed at it

'Of course I can. You know its so difficult to combine all the rituals and thank god we have combined rituals at the same venue and not different place from anne and Kavisha otherwise I would have to cut myself into two pieces..'

They both laughed at it and then Poorva said

'Now I have to call my friend Mugilan to ask about the Malaysian cultures and but I came to know one thing paatti'

'And what's that?'

'India is awesome..paattii you know majorly all the main rituals in all the indian weddings are same but they have just different name. And I feel so lucky to be born in India. It has such an amazing and cultural diversity. Paatti you know I love Christian and Islamic weddings too..The way they say 'I do' and 'Qubool hai' is just awesome. Paatti you know India is the only country in the world where weddings takes place in so many ways...!! Really isn't it fascinating!!'
