34. Loving heart..

Kavisha gasped. And her hands automatically covered her mouth.

All her family members were present there from her atte,mama,chinnama,periyamma,cousins..each one of her close family members were present. And then there were Anirudh's close family members.

And then finally there was a iyer(priest) preparing for some kind of ritual.

Kavisha was about to ask what was going on, when Lakshmi was moved forward on her wheelchair by Poorva near Kavisha.

Lakshmi held Kavisha's hand and made her kneel in front of her and said

'Congratulations..you are getting engaged today maa..'

Kavisha worriedly asked

'Mom but your health..'

She was cut off by Lakshmi

'Kavisha I didn't arrange a single thing here. I was lying on bed till you entered inside the house...and after the rituals I will again lie down..Don't worry'

'But mom we could have waited...there was no need to rush this'

Lakshmi smiled at Kavisha. This girl was really different. A girl would be excited about their engagement and here was a girl worrying about her mother in laws health.

'Kavisha..after what you did for our family you deserve more than this. This is just what is yours..a status you owned which was long due'

Kavisha was overwhelmed by her words. She just hugged her lightly without disturbing her injuries.

At that precise moment the iyer said

'The muhurtham is just for 45 minutes we need to hurry..'

Kavisha's mother worriedly said

'Kavisha go get dressed. Please hurry up okay..Your lehenga is in Paru's room and the stylist is waiting for you go..'

Kavisha's smile faded as she wanted to gift them something but right now because of their surprise and that laundry's carelessness her surprise was ruined.

She entered Paru's room with Poorva and Riya. They were going to help her get dressed.

But then the stylist suddenly said

'Girls I feel you both must leave..I will get her ready..if more people stick around it will be crowded here.. so please'

Poorva nodded in reply and dragged Riya out of the room.

Kavisha turned towards the stylist. She was not at all happy with the stylist's behaviour. How could she tell Riya and Poorva to leave the room.

The stylist smiled at Kavisha's reaction and said

'Actually Anirudh sir told me to send them away because he thinks you would not like to reveal this in front of them now..'

Saying this she handed Kavisha a bag...and seeing what was in that bag Kavisha felt as if Ani had gifted her the whole world because this gift was better than the engagement.

Kavisha immediately got ready and walked out of the room.

Seeing her walking in..all her family members gasped. Her mother ran towards her and hugged her tightly..crying with happiness. Her mother could say

'Kavi..sha'

Anirudh turned towards his family and said

'It's mumma's wedding saree..'

At which a tear rolled down from Lakshmi's eyes.

If only her daughter would gift her something like this.

Then the iyer asked the couple to sit for some rituals and then Ravi and Lakshmi had to present Kavisha clothes which she would wear for the main engagement ceremony..the ring exchange as per their original engagement plan.

As they didn't want to stress Kavisha about the whole getting ready thing they had decided she would wear a single dress.

So the seer varisai plates was full of other accessories...but with out a set of clothes.

As Ravi and Lakshmi were about to give her the plate one of Anirudh's aunty said

'Anni..why aren't there clothes for Kavisha..She must change right?'

Anirudh's mother explained her the reason. But still his aunty was not ready to budge. When Anirudh came from nowhere and kept a bag in the seer varisai plate and said

'Mom this is the lehenga Kavisha was going to wear..she can wear this right..'

Anirudh's mother smiled at Anirudh and gave Kavisha the seer varisai plate.

Kavisha took their blessings and walked towards the room and while walking away she turned towards Anirudh and mouthed a thank you to him.

Anirudh turned towards his aunty who had objected and winked at her and secretly gave her a thumbs up.

Kavisha got ready and walked out of the room and now time for Anirudh's family to gasp...and once again Anirudh came forward and said

'This is mom's wedding saree'

Kavisha walked towards Lakshmi and took her blessings.

Lakshmi cried cried and only cried with a huge smile.

It's so rightly said tears and smile rearly meet but when they do it's just miraculous.

Lakshmi just said

'Thanks for being my daughter Kavisha..'

Then the further rituals were started.

Then it was time for exchanging rings.

First Kavisha placed the ring on Anirudh's hand and then Anirudh placed the ring on her finger.

It was obviously not her proposal ring. Their engagement rings were selected by their parents as both Anirudh and Kavisha wanted each and everything according to their parent's wish.

After exchanging rings Kavisha and Anirudh took everybody's blessings.

As everybody headed for dinner, Anirudh took Kavisha's hand and was about to give her something when Poorva yelled

'Anne..what's going on? Show me,what's in your hand?'

Kavisha just face palmed herself due to Poorva's top notch yelling. Everybody had turned towards them. And she knew exactly what Anirudh was going to give. So she just prayed that after knowing the reason their parents wouldn't get hurt.

Anirudh just gasped. He wanted to gift Kavisha her proposal ring. But now he was in deep trouble. Their parents would now know about the ring and would get hurt that they didn't tell them about this ring.

Just then he knew what he was going to do.

Anirudh kneeled on one knee in front of Kavisha and held the ring

And said

Your innocent smile attracted me to you..

But your loving heart is the reason..

Why I want to spend the rest of my life with you...
