** Welcome to the wedding ceremony of our beloved Anirudh and Kavisha!!! **
--------------------------------------------
4 hours before the wedding
At Kavisha's house
Kavisha sat in her room dressed up in a beautiful red Kanjivaram saree and hair made up beautifully with fragrant jasmine flowers, all set for the Chuda ceremony(It's a punjabi wedding tradition-do read the A/N to know more about the chuda ceremony).
She stood in front of the mirror and was shocked to see a beautiful south Indian style dressed up bride.
She chuckled at the thought of North Indian wedding tradition and waiting for the chuda ceremony.
After a while all her cousins along with Poorva and Paru came in dressed all Gujarati and Rajashtani style.
Kavisha stood there shocked.
Poorva chuckled at her reaction.
Kavisha finally came out of her trance and said
'Are you sure this isn't a fancy dress competition and my wedding.'
All the girls laughed at her and Kavisha glared at them and said
'I hope you don't get confused about the rituals. Poorva we could have a simple wedding and you could have worn different attires why have an extensive whole India wedding for it'
Poorva glared at her and said
'You are lucky..You are a bride otherwise you would have been hit by me till now.. Don't worry all the rituals are mostly same just two, three are different than usual so that we will manage don't stress yourself and ruin your make up'
Then for a while they all teased her about her wedding and the upcoming night and then took her towards the living room where the chuda ceremony was going to take place.
Kavisha sat on a chair in the middle of the room. Then her married sisters and aunts held a dupatta over her head and then her kungumam was done.
Then she was asked to close her eyes and her mama and mami's(maternal uncle and aunts) came forward and washed the bangles with milk and rose water.
After applying kungumam to the bangles her mamas placed the bangles on her hand. And then all her mamis tied the kalira on her hand.
And after all this Shamu tied a soft muslin cloth over her bangles.
As it is considered bad for the bride to look at it before the wedding.
After this Anirudh's mom came forward and did Kavisha's kungumam and gave her, her wedding lehenga.
After this Poorva,Paru and Lakshmi left as they had to reach home for Anirudh's sehra ceremony.(Do the read the A/N)
After the chuda ceremony all of them went to the temple. There the Ganesh pooja was done. Kavisha and her parents did aarti of Lord Ganesha and then Kavisha then took everybody's blessing and then Kavisha's family left for the hall for welcoming the Baraat.(Do read the A/N)
#######
At Anirudh's house
Anirudh was ready in a off white Sherwani with red work on it and was impatiently waiting for his sisters and mom to come back home for the sehra ceremony.
After Poorva,Paru and Lakshmi returned from Kavisha's house, Anirudh's sehra ceremony was started.
Anirudh's mama came forward and did Anirudh's kungumam and placed the Sehra over Anirudh's head.
After that Ganesh pooja was done and Anirudh took blessings from his elders and then they all went down stairs to join the awaiting Baraat.
Kavisha's brother in law was the one who had come to take the Baraat to the wedding venue. As it was a ritual that a male members invite the baraatis and accompanies them to the wedding venue.
As soon as Anirudh rode the horse along with his best man(the youngest family member..preferably around 6 to 8 years of age) all his cousins along with Poorva and Paru stood in front of the horse obstructing its way saying that they will not leave until they get their money.
Anirudh tried to avoid them with the help of Dhanush and Siva but had to give them money as they were getting late.
#######
At the wedding hall
A wearing enthusiastic Baraat entered the compound of the wedding venue.
Kavisha's brothers helped Anirudh get down from the horse and then brought him in front of Kavisha's mother for the thilak.
Kavisha's mother did his thilak and aarti and then Kavisha's father and uncle welcomed all the male members of Anirudh's family with the garland and Kavisha's mother and aunts welcomed all the female members with Gajras(flower garland worn as head gear by women)
After that all the relatives settled down in the wedding hall and immediate family accompanied Anirudh to the priest for the further rituals.
The priest came forward along with Kavisha's father and said to Anirudh's family.
'Now we will start the ritual called kashi yatra..in it Anirudh will take this umbrella along with this cloth filled with rice and will imitate like he is going to Kashi to take Bramahcharya and Kavisha's father will stop him and get him to the mandap with a coconut and shagun.'
After the priest explained the ritual, Anirudh suddenly chirped in
'But I am not going to Kashi I want to marry Kavisha..then why all this'
Suddenly Poorva chuckled besides him and said
'Anne..ithu thaan sangeyam sambarthaayam.. Teriyuthu you are too eager to marry Kavisha nu..kavale padathinge..just follow the instructions'
Anirudh gave a small smile and then the ritual took place and after that he was taken to the mandap for the varmala.

Hey guys..hope you liked to attend the further wedding ceremony!!
Chuda ceremony- It's a North Indian wedding tradition. On the wedding day the rituals at the girl's home begin with the Chuda ceremony. The oldest maternal uncle and aunt play an important role in the performance of the ceremony. Chuda is basically a set of red and cream ivory bangles that is touched by all present which is gifted by girl's Mamma (mother's Brother) the girl does not see the chuda until she is ready for the marriage. People touch the chuda and give their heartiest wishes to the girl for her future married life. Also, they sprinkle flower petals on the bride. After that, the girl's uncle, aunt, friends and cousins tie kaliras (silver, gold or gold plated traditional ornaments) to a bangle worn by the girl.
I published this chapter because the main wedding is at 11.00am tomorrow!! So don't forget to be there ;)
