43. Nalangu ceremony

After the amazing party night all the young crowd was sprawled all over the 2 wedding houses.

All the aunts and uncles were busy waking them so that they could start with the nalangu ceremony.

Finally after an hour of groaning and scolding everybody was ready to start the nalangu ceremony as the wedding was on 24th February the nalangu ceremony was going to take place for 5 days.

Kavisha was sitting on the window sledge looking outside the window watching the beautiful morning light illuminating her room. Which she was going to leave in less than 5 days.

A small tear rolled down her cheek. She immediately brushed it off as soon as she heard her bedroom door open.

A very excited Poorva, Paru, Shamu and Riya walked in.

Poorva was the first one to speak.

'Hey girly all set to become Mrs.Anirudh haa..'

Kavisha just gave her a small smile. She was excited for her wedding but at the same time the void of leaving her parents and grandma was killing her from inside.

What a dilemma for a girl, we are most happiest :) as well the saddest :( person, we start a new life and at the same time leave your home, parents..

She was brought out of her thoughts when Kavisha was dragged towards the washroom and was being pushed inside with a bag and was told to change.

Kavisha immediately changed and walked out of the washroom.

Poorva just banged her hand on her forehead and said

"What was mom thinking when she selected this dress for you.. now I know why she didn't let me open this??'

Shamu gave Poorva a questioning look and said

'Poorva this yellow dress looks awesome on Kavisha..what's the problem?'

Kavisha was about to say something when Poorva stood up and said

'Shamu..its her nalangu ceremony..to be frank we would playing holi out there and I know Kavisha, she would never want to hurt my mum by no wearing this dress and as you can see the dress is way too tideous and now she will be sitting in a corner. How are we going to enjoy then.. thats the reason I asked mom to gift her a simple punjabi suit so that she will be free for then fun but...'

She was not able to complete her sentence as Lakshmi walked in along with Kavisha's mother.

Lakshmi smiled at Kavisha warmly and said

'You look amazing ma..'

And then she turned to Poorva and said

'Poorva if you don't know let me tell you.. I gave Kavisha both set of clothes a dress as well as punjabi suit and asked her to wear whatever she wants.'

Poorva turned to Kavisha and gave her an amusing look.

'Are you out of your mind..if you have a more comfortable dress then why not wear that over this tideous dress?'

Kavisha chuckled at her reaction and said

'Poorva actually I loved this dress. I know nalangu ceremony always makes you look like an animal at the end will all the sandalwood.  I just want a decent photo of mine. I don't want to be embarrassed later when people laugh at my dress along with my face from my nalangu ceremony. Atleast my dress would save my grace..'
