12 hours before the wedding

Kavisha was pacing in her room.

Saying that she was nervous would be an understatement.

Every two minutes she would find some or the other thing, she had left in her room which she wanted to take with her.

Kavisha finally sat near her filled suitcase and took out a photo frame out of it.

It was a family photo with her mom, dad and grandma on their recent outing.

Kavisha traced a finger over their faces and slowly brushed of her tears.

She heard her bedroom door open, she hurriedly hid the photo frame inside her suitcase and rubbed her cheeks to brush of the remaining traces of tears.

She slowly turned around to see her mother loving looking at her holding a plate of food.

Her mother walked towards her and slowly sat besides her on the carpeted floor slightly pushing her suitcase away.

Kavisha pushed her suitcase away and made place for her mother to sit.

Kavisha's mother placed the plate on the bed and opened her arms and Kavisha immediately hugged her mother with all her might.

They sat there like that for a while and then Kavisha's mother pulled out of the hug to Kavisha' severe reluctance.

Then she took the plate from the bed and started feeding Kavisha with her hands.

Both of them didn't utter a single word. Because both of them knew if right now they utter a single word then they would not be able to control their emotions and will make the other cry.

Kavisha took a piece of roti and held it in front of her mother.

At that point, her mother lost all her control and a tears started rolling down her eyes.

Kavisha's mother ate that piece and gave Kavisha a side hug and started crying. Kavisha tried to control her tears but finally gave in.

After finishing feeding Kavisha her mother washed her hands and again sat besides her and finally spoke.

'So all set to start a new life my princess?'

Kavisha looked at her mother and was astonished to see a very calm and composed lady sitting besides her unlike the lady who had cried her heart out a few minutes ago.

Kavisha's mother smiled at her and made her(Kavisha) lie down on her(her mother's)lap.

'Kavisha I know what you are feeling right now. Not because I am your mother but because I am a woman. Trust me when I say this, that every moment in this world feels this happy said emotion within her when she gets married. She is happy because she is starting a new life, getting new status of being a wife, daughter in law etc.. At the same time she is sad that she has to leave her house, her parents for that new life.. You know she has a dilemma, a fear. A fear and I know you are facing..that while taking care of your new family you don't want to forget your parents..'

Kavisha turned in her head in her mother's lap and hugged her.

Kavisha's mother kissed her hair and continued.
