Chapter 21 - Anniversary

Jordan clutched the sides of his head. He was in his condo unit having a severe headache due to lack of sleep. Napabangon siya sa kama, kinuha ang gamot sa side table at uminom ng tubig. It would only take few minutes before the medicine will take effect. He ignored the constant vibration of his phone above the side table and went back to bed. He intentionally turned off the ringer dahil ayaw niyang maistorbo sa kanyang pagtulog.

Unti-unti na nag e-epekto ang gamot. Nawawala na ang sakit ng ulo niya at nag-umpisa na siyang dalawin ng antok nang makarinig siya sunud-sunod tunog ng doorbell.

"Damn!" Nasapo niya ang ulo. Who the hell would be his visitor at this late hour?

Bumangon siya sa kama at lumabas ng kanyang kwarto. Tinungo niya ang pintuan at pinagbuksan ang tao sa labas. He literally froze upon seeing Celestine outside the door.

Ilang araw na nga ba niya itong hindi nakikita? A week? He put all his time and energy to work, dated other women just to forget about her, now, what is she doing here ruining his privacy?

Sinuyod niya ito nang tingin. It seems like she came here in emergency. She's just wearing a simple long black sleeveless dress and a gray flip flops. Her long hair just hanging behind her shoulders and her face devoid of any make up. Still, she looked beautiful, a beauty he have denied before. His mouth twisted in a half amusement. Kalmante niyang isinandal ang sarili sa gilid ng pintuan.

"This is quite unexpected..." He rasped.

She was unable to meet his eyes, she was looking anywhere until her gaze directed to his chest. He's wearing a white sando and a black boxer shorts. He is fully aware that the thick hair from his chest down to his navel is very attractive to women. He notice Celestine swallowed hard and withdraw her eyes from his chest.

"Sorry kung naabala kita, tinatawagan kasi kita pero di mo sinasagot."

She have a breathy voice, an implication that she was a bit nervous to face him. He studied her from head to toe, is she really for real in front of him? The major cause of his sleepless nights and recent headache? He crossed his arms on his chest, stared at her in a lazy manner. She seemed bothered though.

"So why are you here Celestine?"

"Pwede ba akong dito matulog?" She reluctantly asked, braving her eyes to meet his.

Now, THAT was such a very interesting question. Why would this woman want to sleep inside his condo? The last time he checked, she was pushing him away like they didn't share anything special. Special? Since when did he admit that they really shared something special?

His eyes smoldered with hate and desire for her. Hate because he didn't understand what she's playing at. And desire...the desire he have been patiently endured that seems like eternity.

"You want to sleep with me?" He mocked with a half smile that appeared to her more like a smirk.

"I-I mean, makikitulog muna ako dito."

He grinned at her mischievously. "I tell you what sweetheart, we are both consenting adults, not to mention that we have all the rights to---you know what I mean. Once you decided to step inside my door, we will surely do it, we will be up overnight and sleeping will not be your option..." He rasped in a sexual invitation.

Damn! He was totally affected by his own words, electricity ignited his system that seemed so out of control. Like he was a deprived vampire who wanted to taste pure blood after a thousand years. He wanted to laugh at his own thought. He just want to set her expectation of what's gonna happen if she stays with him tonight. He wanted her and there's no use to deny her own desire for him. He could see it from her eyes...he could smell it from her skin...she was the one who came here, there's no turning back now.

She nodded. "I understand."

His eyes narrowed. Did she really understand what she was asking for?

"Are you sure?"

Sinalubong nito ng sinserong tingin ang kanyang mga mata. "I'm sure Jordy..."

Jordy. Tinawag siya nitong Jordy. Hindi Jordan. It meant so much for him because it was like a sweet endearment she used to call him before.

He unblocked the door with his body. "Come in..." 

Shit! His blood boiled in excitement. His dick wants to greet her 'hello' like the fucker couldn't wait  like his master. He calmed himself as he watched her enter the door and lock it. Then she hugged herself while moving eyes to the surroundings.

"You've changed the wallpaper..." She noticed. His wallpaper design before was very manly, dark and mysterious samantalang naging makulay na ito ngayon. 

"It was Samantha's idea. Would you like to drink coffee or wine?"

"No thank you."

"C'mon sweetheart, you're nervous, I'll get us wine okay?" He pinched her right cheek naturally that took her by surprise. Agad na niyang tinungo ang kinaroroonan ng ref. May dala na siyang bote ng wine at kopita pagbalik niya. Nagsalin siya ng wine sa kopita at iniabot iyon kay Celestine.

"Thanks..." Umupo ito sa sofa bago sinimulang uminom ng wine. Umupo rin siya sa tapat nito. He drunk the wine from the bottle habang tinititigan ang babae.

"I didn't know that ignoring you totally will make you come to me willingly sweetheart..." Nagdekwatro siya at muling lumagok ng wine mula sa bote. Enjoying the view of his beautiful wife.

"You didn't bother to call or text me for a week...Why were you ignoring me then?" Nakatingin ito sa kanya na tila nanunumbat. Gustong matawa ni Jordan. Tama ba ang naririnig niya?

"To give you the dose of your own medicine, I guess..." He answered while shrugging his shoulders.

"Sinasadya mong gawin iyon? That's why you dated that famous model actress who obviously likes you a lot!"

"Whoa! Did I sense jealousy from there Sherry?"

Inilagay nito sa center table ang wala ng laman na kopita.

"Forget about it Jordan..."

Inisang lagok niya ang natirang wine sa bote at inilagay din ito sa center table.

"Is he aware that you're here?" He was referring to Zeron.

"Please let's not talk about him. He's in Japan right now...I..." She swallowed. "I'm planning to break up with him..."

Naningkit ang mga mata niya dito. Why is she suddenly saying all the things that he wanted to hear? Tungkol ba ito sa sariling kumpanya na pilit nitong ibinabangon sa pagkakabagsak? Was it Armando's idea? Well, he's not gonna let another blood of Escudero betray their family this way, even if she happened to be his wife.

 Tumayo siya mula sa pagkakaupo. 

"Come, I'll show the room..."

She stood up to follow him. He opened the door for her like a perfect gentleman hanggang sa tuluyan na itong makapasok.

Then the door closed.
