Chapter 27:

(GAARA'S POV)

I looked at Rain as she nodded slowly. Her eyes wandered around, as if she was replying each memory she had here. It was a beautiful place, quite interesting for an Akatsuki base, that's probably why we never found it.

Though I'm actually glad we didn't find it. We would've ruined it.

Rain stood up and picked up the black wooden wolf. She looked down at it with a blank stare before putting it on her head. She looked up and gave me a small smile before holding her hand out.

"Follow me, Gaara of the Desert also known as Kid Kazekage and Panda-Kun. There's something I want to show you." She said. I looked at her skeptically before placing my hand in hers. As she turned away I couldn't contain the smile that took over my face.

Panda-Kun.

"Why are you smiling, you look creepy." Rain said as she raised an eyebrow, she turned away from me again before bursting out laughing. "It's not that creepy don't worry. I'm not used to it that's all. Have you been smiling a lot more?" I chuckled and nodded.

"Yes, I've been trying to smile a lot more. It seems like people enjoy when I smile. Rather then my normal death glare." I answered. Rain nodded as she pulled me through the woods.

"I'm glad."

"How about you? Sora and Mao told me you used to wear a mask all the time and how you never took it off." I asked. Rain shrugged.

"Mhm, what about it?" She asked.

"Did you smile often? Or make any expressions? They were worried you turned expressionless." I said. She just shrugged again.

"I smiled here and there, though no one saw because of my mask. I took it off probably twice since I've been in the Akatsukis. Sora and Mao wore masks also but that was only on missions." She answered. She turned around and looked at me before turning back.

"What?" I asked. She just shook her head.

"It's quite odd having it off. I've gotten used to having it." She said as she touched her face, she then shook her head and dropped my hand. I bit back a protest. Wait..what? What's gotten into me?

A small breeze blew by, Rain looked up and closed her eyes. I took this opportunity to spare a glance at her. Her hair, the color of coal blew in the air. It has gotten longer then before, almost all the way down her back. Her pale skin, marked by the kanjis that represented her bonds. She normally had those wrapped but not right now. Her lips, the one I've kissed before. Red, and full. A black ring wrapped around it.

She had to be sculptured by angels. She was breathtakingly beautiful. She opened her eyes and I found myself getting lost in them.

They used to be bright blue, the brightest blue I've ever seen. Brighter than Naruto's and Mao's even. But now they're a light blue, almost grey in the sunlight. Her eyes just attracted you, the fierceness it holds in one glance. She was mysterious. She is mysterious.

I've always felt love for this person standing before me. Though I understand that I must restrain from doing anything too quickly. She shouldn't be focusing on that right now, she first has to build up herself.

She turned her gaze away from me and pointed to the opening. Some of the Akatsuki members were sitting there. Rain and I walked over and sat in front of them, but it seems like they couldn't see us.

"Before I saw you I was inside the house, Leader-sama, Konan, and Sasori were in there. I guess everyone else is out here." Rain said as she stared at the remaining Akatsuki members.
