Alix and Rayan.

Rayan.

After what happened with Zendaya, I couldn’t bring myself to calm down. I needed to vent. I looked through my contacts in my phone, seeing that all the people I had in my phone were either unreliable or wouldn’t ditch school for my problems… But, then I came across a name that put me in a bit of a nostalgic daze… It was Alix. I selected her name, her number being called. I hesitated for a bit before actually placing my ear to the phone. “Hello?” she answered, sounding a bit exhausted. “H-Hey, Alix,” I smiled weakly. “Hey, Rayan,” her greeting sounded more like a question than an actual greeting. “Are you coming to school today?” I asked. “No, Craig said that I should stay home. It was serious stuff that went down last night, and he wants me to chill out for today,” she answered. “Well, where are you?” I asked. “Why? Is something wrong?” she asked. “No, I just… Yeah, something’s wrong,” I sighed. “Well, I’m over by Craig’s house,” she replied. “Okay… I’ll be there… Oh, Alix… I know we kind of went our separate ways and all, but… I still consider you to be my best friend,” I confessed. “Thanks, Ray,” she spoke before hanging up.

I sat in my car for a couple of moments before driving toward Prod’s home. Once I arrived, I hopped out of the car and approached the large, all white porch. I rang the doorbell several moments before the door actually opened. “Hey, Ray,” she gave me a small smile while letting me walk inside. “Hey, Alix,” I opened my arms for a hug. “You been keepin’ warm for me?” she asked, standing on her tiptoes as I hugged her waist. “Yeah,” I chuckled lightly… That was an old joke from sophomore year. She knew about my anemia, and always wanted to make sure I was warm and comfortable. I wasn’t too sure about layering clothes back in the 10th grade year, but if it wasn’t for Alix, I’d be chilly all the fucking time… I held her tightly for a couple more moments. It felt good to hug her like this. I kissed her forehead before we pulled away from each other. She blushed slightly while walking into the kitchen. I never get to hug Alix like that. The main reason being that she’s with Craig now, and I don’t want to pose as a threat to him when I’m not even remotely competition. “So, what’s up?” she asked from the kitchen. “Well, Z. and I got into a fight,” I spoke. “What happened?” she asked.

I sighed before replying. “Well, she cheated on me with Chres. They fucked at that party last Friday… She’s been trying to apologize and whatnot, and I’ve accepted her apologies… But, last night, we fucked… No, actually, she sucked my dick and rode me, and that was it. This morning, she was calling me ‘baby’ and stuff… I told her that just because we had sex, doesn’t mean that we’re together again. She called me melodramatic. I called her a slut. The End,” I spoke. Alix looked at me with an eyebrow rising before giving me a straight face. Her straight face turned into a look of disapproval before she shook her head. “You shouldn’t have called her that, Rayan,” she spoke. “I know, but I was mad. She doesn’t know what the fuck I go through. You know I try to be nice to everyone I come across, but she crossed the line,” I spoke. “She crossed the line by calling you melodramatic. Ooh, she really awakened the beast, huh?” she sarcastically spoke. I sighed. “I’m just tired of being ‘Mr. Nice Guy’. I’m tired of being hurt, that’s all,” I spoke. “Rayan… you’re not the problem. It’s okay to be Mr. Nice Guy. You’re just looking for all the wrong girls. Just pace yourself a bit. She’ll come along when you least expect it,” she spoke, bringing out materials.

Her words sunk into my mind as she made a sandwich. “Do you want a sandwich?” she asked. “Yeah, sure,” I answered. I stared at her for a while before speaking. “What do you think would be a fit for me?” I asked. “In girls?” she questioned. “Yeah,” I nodded, my back against the island as I stood next to her. “Oh, I don’t know. Just someone who makes you happy. Someone you can bring home to your mom… Someone you can call your best friend,” she answered. “Like you,” I spoke. “What? No, Rayan. I’m not the one,” she let a giggle slip from her lips while continuing to make the sandwiches. “And why not you?” I asked. She looked up at me with a slight smile. “Are you trying to tell me something, Rayan?” she inquired. “I don’t know. You tell me,” I half-shrugged. “Oh, Ray. You were always a jokester,” she shook her head with a smile before handing me my sandwich. She put away the materials as I began to eat my sandwich. “So, what’s up with you and Prod?” I asked. “We’re chillin’,” she answered, going into a drawer and picking up what looked like a little note. “You said something serious happened last night. What happened?” I asked. She stared at the note that picked up, smiling a smile I haven’t seen since sophomore year. “Alix,” I spoke to catch her attention. “Huh?” she looked up at me. “What happened last night?” I asked. “Oh, you wouldn’t want to know,” she shook her head before slipping the note into her pocket. “What did the note say?” I asked, finishing off my sandwich. “Oh, it’s just little notes Prod leaves around the house in place of certain objects. It’s what he calls ‘Alix Proofing’ the house,” she giggled a bit. I smiled a bit while sitting on top of the island. She sat next to me, beginning to eat her sandwich.
