Chapter 30

Part I

Craig.

I awakened earlier than I usually do. Alix was lying next to me, her eyes wide open. “Alix, Baby… Did you get any sleep?” I asked. She slowly shook her head, staring off into space. “Okay, stay right here for minute, okay?” I spoke. She slowly nodded before I slipped from in between the bed covers. I took a quick shower before beginning to get ready for the upcoming day. While getting ready, I thought all about Alix. Maybe, she should stay home today… But, then my fear of leaving her alone came back again. If I leave her alone here, I have to Alix proof the whole mansion. I shrugged at the thought. “I gotta do what I gotta do,” I whispered while brushing my teeth. I took certain things out of certain places, replacing them with sharpies and little notes for her. I eventually returned to my bedroom, where she still lied down. “Alix, I think you should stay here today,” I spoke softly, caressing her cheek. She looked into my eyes. “Okay,” she finally replied in a small voice. “Gimme a kiss,” I puckered my lips. She pecked my lips as I smiled at her. “Craig?” she started off. “Yes, Beautiful,” I took her hand into mine and kissed the back of it. “You never told me what you said you were going to tell me,” she spoke.

“Oh, yeah… Well, my father called and said he wanted to meet you over dinner… But, we don’t have to go if you d---.” “He wants to meet me?” she asked. “Yes, Babygirl,” I caressed her cheek. She smiled slightly. “Cool,” she simply spoke. “I’ll call him and give him a day we can have dinner,” I kissed her forehead. “Okay,” she smiled. “I love you,” I pecked her lips twice before picking up my backpack. “I love you too,” she replied. “I’ll text you every hour, and I’ll be home as fast as possible,” I spoke. “Okay,” she simply spoke. I crouched down to her level again before taking her hand into mine. “You’re my whole world, Alix… As soon as we graduate, I’m proposing with a huge ass rock on your ring. There’ll be a huge wedding for the two of us. From there, we can spend our honeymoon wherever you want to. Late night and early mornings. We can buy a mansion, start a famil---.” “What about college?” she asked. “Oh, yeah. We’ll get that in. No problem,” I reassured her. She smiled at me before sitting up. She pulled me close to her as I held her tight in my “stable” arms.

Memories from yesterday flooded my head at the word “stable”. “You’re hurt, and I know you’re hurt! You try to hide it from me because you’re supposed to be my ‘rock’, but I can see it in your eyes, Craig… I see it,” her voice replayed in my mind. I guess I’m that transparent, huh? I can’t fool Alix. She knows I’m just as unstable as the rest of us “rich kids”… but, I try to be strong for her. When she needs a shoulder to cry on, I’m there for her. I’m her pillow, her teddy bear, her whatever she needs… but, at the end of the day, I’m her rock and her best friend. And no one’s going to break our bond…

I eventually left after Alix proofing my home and hopped into my car. I arrived to school, all eyes on me. I bet they’re all wondering where Alix is so, they can laugh at her. I mean-mugged each and every person who whispered and watched all the way to my locker. “Yo, Prod! Where’s your girlfriend, Man?” A voice behind asked, obviously teasing me. I turned around, pushing the person who was behind me. “Don’t worry about where my girlfriend is, Nigga!” I shoved him again. “Whoa, Man. Calm down. I didn’t mean to offend you!” he put his hands up in defense. “Well, you did!” I shoved him again. “I mean, how did a girl like that end up with a dude like you! She’s a fucking toothpick, Man,” he spoke. My blood boiled over and I had had it with this unknown nigga. I put my books down. I swung, punching him dead in the face before punching him again in the stomach. A crowd surrounded us as he swung and missed. I kicked him down and began kicking him repeatedly in the gut. “Yo! Prod, chill!” I heard Chresanto’s voice while he tried to pull me off of the guy. “No, he said something about Alix!” I shouted in Chresanto’s face. “She got you whipped, Nigga! And she ain’t even thick!” the guy yelled from the floor.

I gripped him by the collar and pinned him to a locker. “Say one more goddamn thing, and I’ll beat you to death. You don’t know her! You don’t know what shit she goes through! You’re fucking scum. And that’s why you don’t have a damn girlfriend. You’re nothing and you’re never going to be nothing if all you look for in a girl is that she’s thick. I should beat the brakes off of you everyday just because you’re scum, but I’m not beating you because of that fucking reason… I’m beating you because you said something about my girlfriend, and if I hear you or hear about you talking shit about her again, don’t let me catch you in the hallway, Bitch,” I growled before Chresanto pulled me away from the situation. “What the hell?” he asked as I picked up my books. “Worry about your own shit,” I mean-mugged him before walking to my first period.

Rayan.

I awakened to see sunlight pouring into the bedroom through my window. Zendaya was lying next to me, sound asleep. I sighed before getting up and hopping into the shower. After washing off what happened last night, I wrapped a towel around my waist, expecting Zendaya to gone back to her room. I was wrong. She sat at the edge of the bed, wearing the shirt I had on last night. She bit her lip at me as I walked into the room. “Good morning, Baby,” she greeted seductively. “Hey, Z.” I simply replied, pulling on a pair of boxer briefs. “I enjoyed last night,” she spoke as I went into my closet. I soon found a pair of jeans and put them on. “Good,” I responded before finding the perfect two shirts to layer. “Don’t you want to go for Round two, Baby?” she walked in front of me and began kissing me. “Nah, I’m straight,” I gently pushed her back before sitting on the floor, deciding among my dozens of shoes which ones to wear. “Come on. It won’t hurt us to be a little late for school,” she stood in front of me, her nakedness showing from under the shirt. “Well, I have an attendance to keep up, Z. I’m not trying to bring my GPA down or nothin’ like that,” I shook my head before finally choosing a pair of sneakers. I slipped them on as she crouched down in front of me and whispered into my ears. “I know you want to taste this puss---.” I got up and walked away before she could even finish saying whatever she were to say. I picked a snapback and placed on my head as she pouted.

“Are you riding with me or what?” I asked. “Babyy, I---.” “Could you stop calling me that? Thanks,” I spoke before grabbing my backpack. “Wh-Why would I stop calling you that? We’re together, aren’t we?” she asked, her eyebrows furrowed. “No,” I shook my head while heading downstairs. She followed me as I went into the kitchen to get something to eat. “What the fuck do you mean ‘no’? Rayan, we made love last night,” she spoke. “No, we had sex last night,” I corrected her before raiding the refrigerator. “But… We’re together, Rayan. We---.” “Just because you sucked my dick and rode me doesn’t mean that we’re together… I mean you did the same thing to Chres, and you’re not begging him for a relationship,” I shrugged. “B-But---.” “Fucking me good and swallowing doesn’t make the fact that you did me wrong go away,” I spoke. “I’ve done everything I could, Rayan. I’ve begged for your forgiveness a-and---.” “And I’ve forgiven you, but I haven’t forgotten the shit you did,” I spoke, grabbing an Arizona tea.

I cracked open the can before sipping from it. “I was caught in the moment, Rayan,” she sighed. I nodded and looked at her. “Yeah, sure, you were. That’s reasonable,” I sarcastically spoke. She sighed, looking down. “So… why did you fuck me last night?” she asked quietly. “I was caught in the moment, Zendaya,” I mocked her. “Look, Ray. You were almost my first everything. My first time. My first dick that I---.” “That was not your first time sucking dick, Z. Don’t no first timer swallow like that,” I shook my head. “How are you going to tell me what I have and have not done?” she caught an attitude. “Because I know lies when I see lies,” I answered. “You sure didn’t know a lie when I told it to you,” she said. I looked into her eyes as if she were insane as she looked down, regretting what she said.

“Rayan, I--.” “No, fuck you, Z.” I barked before beginning to leave. “Rayan, please. You’re being melodramatic,” she gripped my arm. “I’m being melodramatic? Okay, try watching the closest person to you leave you after three days when they’ve already been gone for almost a year. Try giving your heart to someone who doesn’t want it. Try listening to the one you love fuck someone who you consider to be your brother. Try watching your new love interest slip from your fingers to the same ‘brother’ who fucked the one you previously loved. Try to keep a fucking smile on your fucking face all while this happening! Try to be Mr. Nice Guy even when you’re broken on the inside! Try to keep laughing when all you want to fucking do is cry! Put yourself in my shoes before you call me melodramatic, you slut,” I growled before walking out, making sure I had my backpack and car keys.
