Chapter 42
Justine.
Daniel lied asleep, snoring lightly. It was the morning. I had spent the night without his parents knowing. Unlike every other rich kid I know, Daniel’s family is actually there, and since he’s not the only child, his family will always be there. I shook Daniel, causing him to wake up. “Daniel,” I whispered. He wiped the sleep from his eyes before smiling slightly at me. “Good morning,” he greeted. “Good morning,” I smiled back at him. “Follow me,” he motioned to me before getting out of bed. He took my hand into his before leading me toward the gates of his home. “I’ll see you later,” he tousled my hair. “Okay,” I smiled slightly. He waited until I was in my car before returning inside of his home. I returned home to hear nothing but silence… Jacob must still be asleep. I went upstairs to check on him. Just as I assumed, he was sound asleep like a toddler during nap time. I closed the bedroom door before beginning to make breakfast. I made a plate of Jacob along with a plate for me.
Omelets along with orange juice. While I was setting the plates down, the doorbell rang. “Just a minute!” I called. I wiped my hands on the apron I had on. I pulled my hair back into a ponytail while making my way towards my front door. I opened it to see Daniel. “Daniel, what are you doing here? I just saw you,” I smiled. “I knew you’d be making breakfast,” he replied before kissing my forehead and letting himself into my home. “You look so cute with your apron on,” he smiled. I blushed as he walked into the kitchen. “Omelets? So, you fancy?” he raised an eyebrow at me. I laughed before he leaned against the island. I returned to the stove. “So, you made this for me?” he pointed to one of the plates. “No,” I answered. “No?” he questioned. “Nope,” I shook my head. “Oh, why you gotta be so mean?” he pouted, wrapping his arms around me from behind. “I’m not being mean,” I replied. “Are you going to make me one then?” he asked. “Nope,” I answered. “Pleaasee,” he pleaded, holding me closer. “Don’t beg,” I spoke. “Why not?” he inquired. “Desperation doesn’t look good on you,” I responded with a smirk. He chuckled. “You got jokes,” he replied.
I made another omelet before placing it onto a plate. I grabbed some orange juice and a glass before pouring the juice into the glass. With that, I gave both the plate and the juice to him. “Thank you, Baby,” he smiled graciously before beginning to eat. He sat on a counter top as I grabbed my plate also. We ate and talked, cracking jokes occasionally. “My parents want to meet you,” he spoke after a brief silence. “Really?” I raised my eyebrow. He nodded. “When?” I asked. “Hopefully, later this week or next weekend… But, don’t listen to anything my dad says. He’s going to embarrass me with everything in his being,” he spoke. I laughed. “Come on. It won’t be that bad,” I nudged him. “You haven’t met him yet,” he replied. I smiled and shook my head before sipping my orange juice. “Whatever, Daniel,” I mumbled. “Okayyy. Don’t say I didn’t warn you,” he shook his head at me.
Alix.
I lied on my bed, looking up at the ceiling. I was anticipating feeling something, but I don’t know what… I was waiting to feel the bed move slightly as a presence would lie itself next to me. The presence would take my hand into theirs and look deeply into my eyes. The presence would tell me how much it loved me and how beautiful I was. The presence would kiss my forehead and my nose and my lips softly and delicately. The presence would ask me how my day was and always told me the next day would be better. The presence would get up only when necessary, but besides that… the presence would remain with me…
The presence was Craig… I miss his arms being wrapped around me and his smile brightening up my day. He was my sunshine, and no one was able to rain over me when he was around. I miss him, and I don’t know if I’ll ever get over his death. I usually try to cover it up while around Rayan, but my heart is broken, and the only person who knew how to mend it was Craig…
