A/N: Day 13. Not sure if I interpreted the prompt right but there you go.
"Hey, Sasuke!"
He was Uchiha Sasuke and she was Haruno Sakura. They have known each other since kindergarten. She was his best friend. He was her best friend.
He was her best friend who wanted more.
Yes, as cliche as it was, he was in love with his best friend. But he had no plans on telling her. Sure, he wanted more, but he didn't want anything less than what they have. He knew the repercussions when he decide to confess. And he'd rather have her as a best friend than nothing at all.
"Hn?"
"I love you."
He choked on his tea. They were in his house because final exams were just over and they wanted to finally relax.
"What," he asked.
She rolled her eyes. "You know that. You didn't have to look like a fish out of water. What are you surprised for?"
He sighed. He realized what she meant. He loved him as her best friend.
"What is it?" He asked. He knew her well enough that he knew when she was trying to open up something by rounding up random topics.
"Okay, okay, you got me." She sipped on her hot chocolate. "Senior prom's coming." she told him.
"So?"
"Well, there's this two guys, they're asking me out. As a date to the prom." she explained.
"Tell them no." He told her as if it's the obvious thing she should do.
She raised her brow. "Is that so? Why would I do that?" she challenged him.
He smirked. "Because you're going with me."
"You know about the annual tradition of that prom, right?"
"Teme!!! Hinata-chan said yes! She's going to the prom with me! They said that your last dance, probably your date, would be the one you'd spend the rest of your life with! They also said that most couples got married! And some of them are STILL married!" Naruto babbled on., wailing his arms for emphasis
Sasuke stopped listening when the idiot got to the 'spend the rest of your life' part. He thought of the future and all he could think of were pink hair and green eyes.
"Ah." He affirmed to her.
Her eyes widened. "B--but that means..." he cut her off.
"Yes."
That was it. He had given her the hint. And their friendship would be ruined. She would avoid him. She would stop being his best friend. She wouldn't want to see him. She--
She blushed. And gave off that breathtaking smile.
Beat.
"Okay."
Because apparently, he was her best friend and she's in love with him too.
