A/N: Day 4. Basically just word vomit.

--

It all started with a spar.

Sakura was shocked, to say the least, when Sasuke came over her apartment that morning when she was supposed to be savouring her day off—her first day off for six months, mind you.

She was rather feeling smug by the fact that she managed to overpower him in at least a round out of three. That was a feat already, considering the Uchiha Sasuke was her partner.

Sakura was sane enough to admit that Sasuke was leagues ahead of her; in terms of ninja prowess. She knew she’s strong—probably the strongest kunoichi in her generation—but this was Uchiha Sasuke, the same chicken-butt haired guy who defeated Kaguya alongside Naruto.

She was still panting, trying to catch her breath. “That was awesome.”

“Tch.” He rolled his eyes before tossing to her one of the two bottles of water that he brought with them.

She teased him while opening the bottle, “Hm? You’re just bitter that I won one round.”

He scoffed. “As if. That was pure luck.”

“Just admit it.” She prodded, sticking her tongue out at him.

He smirked, looking away.

Silence enveloped them. It wasn’t the uncomfortable kind of silence, more like casual, friendly even.

Sakura decided to break it, “I still mean what I said before, just so you know.”

He froze; he wasn’t expecting that. She should’ve at least warned him. He knew what she was talking about: a naïve little girl desperate enough to blurt out her feelings for a boy who still left her afterwards.

He stole a glance at her, finding her not looking at him but with a serene smile on her face.

“…Why?” I don’t deserve it. I don’t deserve you.

As if reading his thoughts, she finally met his gaze, making his heart stop at the intensity of her green, green eyes.

“I just do. You don’t have to deserve it, you know. However, I’ll be selfish enough to say that I think I deserve it. I deserve you.”
