~The Passing Time~ A Garmau FF

Chapter 1: The Baby

Aphmau woke up to the usual banging on her door. It was Garroth, for what she thought was going to be another report for the day's events. But something was different, the sun hadn't even risen yet and Garroth was knocking on that door like it was his mission!

Aphmau's POV
The loud sound of knocking wakes me up. Who could that be? Ugh, I don't care I'm going to sleep.

Knock knock knock

"Mmmnnn! Five more minutes!"
I say and turn over, I can make out what sounds to be a male voice, but I'm too tired to care.

Knock knock knock

"Huh? Wha? Who is that? Ugh, the sun isn't even up yet! FINE! I'm coming!"

As I walk downstairs I realize I'm still in my pajamas. Eh! Who cares? I open the door to see Garroth with a worried look on his face.

"Garroth? Why are you here this early? What happened? Is something wrong!"

"Hurry! Come with me! I need to show you something!"

"What? Why? Can't it wait?"

"NO! Come ON!" Garroth snaps, Eh? Um. Okay, he seems like he really means it so I'll stop asking questions. I nod and chase after him.

Garroth's POV
I was in the guard tower talking with Laurance and Dante about Katelyn's arrival, when all of a sudden Laurance gasps. "Oh..My..Irene..."

"What are you.." I stop mid sentence as I turn around and see a blinding light shooting up from Kiki's barn.

"Come on!" Laurance yells behind him as he climbs down the ladder. I chase after him and Dante follows.

~Kiki's barn~

As I enter, I see Kiki laying on her bed in extreme pain.

"Kiki! Are you okay?!? Laurance, Dante, wait here, I'll go fetch Aphmau!" I bolt towards Aphmau's house, faster than I have ever run before and pound on her door.

"APHMAU WAKE UP IT'S URGENT!" I hear a faint voice saying what I thought sounded like "five more minutes." "APHMAU WAKE UP! HURRY! WE DON'T HAVE FIVE MINUTES!"
I knock on the door even harder. A few moments later I see Aphmau walk out in a beautiful purple night gown, her gorgeous black hair falling perfectly, her chestnut eyes glowing.

Wow she is stunning! I could stare at her all night! Ugh, Garroth! Now is not the time! Focus on what you're here for! Kiki! She looks blankly at me and then immediately notices the worry in my eyes.

"Garroth? Why are you here so early? What happened? Is something wrong?"

"Hurry come with me! I need to show you something!"

"What? Why? Can't it wait?" THIS ISN'T TWENTY QUESTIONS! APH THINK! Hrm.. I can't ever be mad at such a pretty face! Garroth! Again! Focus! Kiki!

"NO! Come ON!" I snap, and immediately feel guilty because of Aphmau's hurt expression. I run toward Kiki's barn and I glance back to see Aphmau following, determination sparking her gaze as she sees the beam of light.

Aphmau's POV
The beam dulled out and disappeared when I entered the barn.

"Hello Laurance, hello Dante."

"She's upstairs." Garroth says, I go up the ladder and see Kiki.

"KIKI ARE YOU OKAY?!?" I ask then I see her, I gasp. "Oh, Kiki! She is so cute!"

"Oh Aphmau! Isn't she precious?" Kiki says weakly but lovingly.

"She is beautiful"

"I'm just stumped on a name for her."

"I'm sure you will think of a great name for her!"

"I'm thinking about naming her Leona, it means lion, I hope she turns out strong."

"With you as her mother, I'm sure she'll turn out strong!" I say reassuringly.

"Thank you, Aphmau. Can you leave me and Leona alone? I want some time with her."

"Okay Kiki. Aww she so cute! She's swaddled up in a little blanket, aww she's so tiny!" I say as I climb back down the Ladder.

Dante's POV
Aphmau just left and we are talking about what to do with the remains of the pendant.

"Those markings. What do you think they mean?" Laurance asks curiously. I study the markings closer. Wait, those markings... They look familiar.

"I believe I have seen these markings before. They look to be the same markings of the Zoneralian Tribe; a tribe that existed long ago. Legend has it, that the tribe only consisted of females. They used this pendant and pricked the finger of a male from another village and a Zoneranion female. 90% of the time, this pendant produced female offspring, during the time period of when the baby was growing, the female would be spirtually bounded to the pendant. This would give the feeling of actual pregnancy to the female of the pendant baby. However, the male offspring from this pendant were given up or something else. This tribe's ways were put to and end and these pendants were hidden away from everyone so that no one would mess with it. I just don't understand how Zane got his hands on one of these things.." I reply.

"Wow you really know how to talk someone's ear off, Dante. Haha! Anyways, that's some interesting stuff! But that is a good question how did Zane get his hands on one of these?"
Laurance said. Hey! When I was young I was very interested in this stuff! Ugh, whatever! Laurance can just be himself.

Laurance's POV
Man! Dante can really talk your ear off when he wants too, but I guess... I hear the ladder rattle and I immediately forget what I was thinking. Aphmau-beautiful no matter what she does! She deserves anyone who can make her smile. Heh. I honestly wouldn't mind if Garroth got her... But I will still always be there for her. I love seeing her giggle, it is the cutest thing ever.

"Uh, Laurance? Are you okay?" I hear Aphmau ask.

"Huh! What? Umm.. D..did I do something?"

"You were staring at me like you were astonished or something."

"Oh! I um.. S..sorry I uh.. Was just thinking."

"About what?"

Crap!

"I was.. Er.. Thinking about how talkitive Dante is.. He is such a chatter box when he wants to be! Haha!"

"HEY! I was interested in that stuff when I was little!" I hear Dante say crossly. Great! I always know how to be akward! Might as well put a sign on my forehead saying "Talk to me to see me embarrass myself infront of my friends!"
