Chapter 10: Promise

Garroth's POV
I walk out of the house after Aphmau, she seems to be going in the direction of Cadenza's house, so I head off toward the guard towers. On my way I hear Dante calling me and he runs over to me. "Garroth! Hey! Garroth! I need to talk to you."

I roll my eyes. I was going there myself, but fine. "Fine, lets go to the guard tower."

I smile to myself as I wait for Dante to come in. I can't believe Aphmau said yes to the date! I smile even brighter at the thought. Aphmau sitting there, her raven black hair wisping around, her chestnut eyes sparkling, her gorgeous smile. How can someone so beautiful be so caring, compassionate, friendly, sweet, the list just keeps on going.

"Uh.. Garroth? Why are you smiling like that? It's kind of freaking me out.." He gasps "Did? Do you tell her?" I look away, embarrassed. "Yeah. You totally did, didn't you?" He smirks and punches my arm. "DUDE! WHEN WERE YOU PLANNING ON TELLING ME THIS?!?" He yells. I swear this man! One moment he is completely calm, next he is screaming in my ear! A small amuzed breath escapes my lips. "Whaaat? I'm just curious!" He yells.

"Dante calm down! I swear, this whole village will know if you keep going!" I hear Laurance running, er.. climbing, up the ladder. "What is going on?" He says puffing. He muct have run from the oposite side of the village, Laurance never is out of breath.

"Laurance you'll never guess what Garroth did!" Dante basically yells at Laurance. "Hey I'm right in front of you! Calm down!" Laurance shouts back at him and I see Dante step back in surprise. I chuckle to myself. "Garroth what's up?" He says turning to me. "I uh I-I asked A-Aphmau o-on a date, a-and she s-said yes." I say trying not to blush with embarrassment.

Laurance stands there wide eyed. "Well. My ship has sailed." He says under his breath, but I heard him. Dante heard him too because he nods and chuckles to himself.

"Uh. What? What ship?" I say confused. "Ha! The one ship that happened! I didn't think ships could come true, but it did." Dante whispers to Laurance. "HA! You just wait! I have a feeling I know of another ship that will sail!" Then Dante blushes, Laurance starts laughing, and I'm standing here confused as heck.

"WHAT THE HECK IS A SHIP?!?" I yell at them. They look at me and start laughing like maniacs. "I give up on you guys!" I say as I climb down the ladder.

Aphmau's POV
The dress that Cadenza made for me is in my bag as I walk back to my house to get ready. The sun looks like it will set soon so I decide to go back and change.

I open my room door and walk in, shutting it behind me. I slip on the lavender purple dress that Cadenza made for me as well as some brown sandals which have a purple flower in the center of them. I look around the room and see my purple and white flower band and I put it on. I walk out of my room toward the area that Garroth had said to go to.

As I'm walking I see Laurance walking up to me with a huge smile on his face. "So you and Garroth huh?" He chuckles "You know, I kind of hoped it would be me, but I am so happy for you two! Garroth is a good person, and I know you make good choices." He says smiling at me, I blush "Thank you Laurance. So, you're not mad?" "Why in Irene's name would I be mad? I'm ecstatic!" He winks at me chuckling and he walks off.

I continue to walk into the woods, smiling even brighter knowing a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I enter the clearing just before the sun is about to go down and I see Garroth standing there, eyes sparkling. I remember when he always hid behind his helmet, now he walks around and hardly ever wears it. Which I prefer to be honest, he is very handsome.

Garroth is wearing jeans and and a white shirt that has a navy-blue and purple cross in the center. His sandy blonde hair is pushed to the side and shining in the setting sunlight.

"Hi Garroth." I say as I walk up to him with a smile on his face. "You look beautiful!" he says as I walk to his side and reach for his hand. He grabs it and blushes while smiling.

While still holding my hand, his other hand reaches into his pocket and pulls out a rectangular, flat box.

"I-I got you this." he says and gives me the box. I open it and I gasp. "It is beautiful!"

Inside the box is a necklace with a purple gem in the middle of a twisting, silver pendant. (The necklace at the top of the chapter)

"Thank you!" I say and hug him tight. "H-here, let me put it on you." He says, taking the neckace from the box and putting it around my neck. "It looks beautiful on you." He says, blushing. I smile and comb my fingers through his sandy-blonde hair. I giggle to myself and we sit on the ground and watch the sun cast an orange glow on the forest, slowly fading to a dark pink and then to a purple.

I lay down in the grass with Garroth next to me. I nuzzle my head into his side and he wraps his arm around me. I feel my eyes drifting closed as I lay looking up at the starry night sky. I feel very calm where I am, like nothing could ever harm me when I with Garroth. I feel him kiss my head. I nuzzle deeper into his warm side and I smile as I drift off to sleep.

Garroth's POV
Aphmau nuzzles her head into my side and slowly drifts off to sleep. I think I'll just stay here tonight, it's so calm. I look down to see a drowsy Aphmau, I smile and kiss her head and she nuzzles deeper into my side. I promise I will protect you with my life. I say in my head as I go to sleep by her side.

~Hey guys! I'm sorry I haven't been posting that often. Tbh the reason why is a mixture of school and the fact that I have been reading SO MUCH Garmau as of late! XD

I made a promise that I would make Tristobiaslove fangirl so hard that she either screamed or cried. Did I do it? Hehe. Keep smiling!~

P.S. So I know Knight is spelled with a K and not Night, I just wasn't thinking at the time when I created my account name, so that stays. Also, I haven't changed it to Knight because I like TSN better than TSK, I don't know why. I'm wierd like that. XD
