Chapter 37: Thanksgiving- pt 1

Aphmau's POV
"HAPPY THANKSGIVING!" I hear Kiki shout over me happily.

I blink sleep from my eyes, "Wha?"

"APHMAU! Thanksgiving! TODAY! Wake UP!" She shouts at me, grabbing my arms and shaking me furiously.

"Nnng!" I say and I curl up further into my blanket.

"DON'T MAKE ME PULL A LAURANCE!" She yells at me.

"I'M UP! NO WATER PLEASE!" I shout, shooting up in my bed.

"Kikiki! Thought so!" She giggles.

"Wait. It's- OH MY IRENE IT'S THANKSGIVING! Foooooddd!!!" I exclaim, giggling.

"What's with you and food?" Kiki asks.

"The same reason as you with animals." I say.

"Fair. Anyways, get dressed, we're going to the guys' house at three." She tells me.

"AND YOU WAKE ME UP AT SEVEN WHY?!?" I yell at her, falling back in my bed to sleep more.

"Tch. Fine, your loss. It's not like I was going to marathon anime, or anything, with you." She says slyly.

I purse my lips, "FINE!"

"Yay!" She says and skips out of my room.

"I think we should start heading over there now." Kiki says, pausing the TV.

"AWW! But we only got to watch like, twelve episodes!" I moan.

"Aph! It's 2:30! Quit your whining!" Kiki says.

"Fine! But we're racing each other there!" I challenge her.

"You're on!" She says and I follow her outside. She locks the door and stands next to me on the sidewalk.

"Three. Two. One. GO!" We shout in unison and we take off.

Once we get to the guys' house, it is 2:37.

"I...win!" I say in between breaths.

"Fine...just...ring the bell." She breathes.

I catch my breath and ring the bell. When it opens, Laurance greets us.

"Hi Aphmau! Hi Kiki! You're here early." He says.

"We wanted to see if we could help with any final preparations." Kiki says from my right.

"Oh, okay. Come on in!" Laurance says, stepping aside to let us in.

When we walk in, the first thing I see is an array of browns, yellows, oranges, and reds. There is a horn of plenty on top of the coffee table, as well as a vase with a bouquet of sunflowers and orange tulips.

Why?

Aesthetics.

Why else?

Anyways, there are miniature pumpkins sprinkled throughout the house and some fake, red and orange colored leaves spread around with them.

I keep scanning the room, I notice a small platter with a turkey design made out of fruit slices.

I also notice the warm smell of actual turkey in the air. I feel my stomach growl at the food, also because of the fact that I didn't eat all day.

I walk to dining room where I see Kawaii~Chan fixing up her baked goods on the table. Sugar cookies, pumpkin roll, various pies such as apple, strawberry, pumpkin, cherry, pecan, lemon meringue, and blackberry pie, banana bread, and a few cakes are all here.
