Chapter 44: The Necklace

Aphmau's POV
I walk up to Garroth, a mischievous smile creeping its way to my lips as I see him talking to Laurance. Garroth's back is turned to me so he doesn't see me approaching him.

I see Laurance's gaze flicker to me for a second and I place my finger to my lips as a sign to stay quiet. He looks back to Garroth as if nothing happened, and I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding.

I stalk up to Garroth until I'm directly behind him. I nod and Laurance jumps to his left and I pounce on Garroth's shouders.

"AHH WHAT THE-" Garroth shrieks as I make him stumble, still hanging from his neck.

"APHMAU!? YOU SCARED THE LIVING CRAP OUT OF ME!" He squacks, leaning back to let me down.

"Hehe! Sorry if I interrupted something, I just really wanted to scare Garroth!" I tell Laurance.

"DID YOU PLAN THAT!?" Garroth says loudly, taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself.

Laurance chuckles, "No, it was just a lucky coincidence."

Garroth flattens his lips into a straight line and stares past me. "Luck... Suuure."

"Anyways, I just finished talking to Garroth. He's all yours!" Laurance says, looking at Garroth with a smirk. He walks away, waving over his shoulder as he goes.

"Alright, how much you wanna bet he's gonna go flirt with Katelyn and get knocked out again?" I say as soon as he is out of earshot.

"I don't think something so obvious would be put a bet on."

"I still bet you two cupcakes!" I press with a laugh.

"Fine," He says grabbing my wind and pulling me with him as he starts for the door.

"What are you-?" I begin but I get cut off by a "you'll see" and he takes me to the school's courtyard.

"Can I know now?" I say, staring at his hair, which looked like wisps of sandy clouds as the breeze tugged at it.

Garroth nods and I turn my attention to his face, which has a soft smile on it.

"Aph, I-I-I know we have been friends for a-a while now," He starts to pull out a rectangular box and I smirk imagining how he sounded like he was proposing.

He opens the box, revealing a necklace with a purple gem intertwined in two silvery bars.

(Look familiar?)

"A-and I was w-wondering if you would be my g-girlfriend?" He finishes, a light blush dusting his cheeks.

I smirk, staring at the necklace, "Oh, so you're gonna bribe me is it?"

"N-n-no! I-"

I cut him off, pressing my lips to his, making him go silent. I pull back, "I was only joking. Yes, I will."

Garroth's flustered face immediatly turns into a smile. I allow him to place the necklace around my neck and we walk back into the school, hand in hand.

~Heeeyy! GUYS I'M SORRY THIS IS SO SHORT! I normally make each chapter a minimum of 1000 words and a maximum of 2000 words, however this is only 500-something words.

I wrote this chapter out because:
1) I haven't updated this book in over a week and it has been making me antsy with the lack of ideas.
2) I have been on WattPad every day actually, but I have been busy either reading books or working on my other books.
3) I'm working on a new, non-fandom-based book.
4) I know some people want me to update.

I can't promise you guys super frequent updates, but I will not put up another book until this one is finished. This is just so I don't have too much on my mind at once and I can get around to doing each book when I get the ideas.

I am ending this book soon, however depending on the direction I end it in, I may get back to this and write a sequel in the future with a spin-off of this.

And lastly, in the past I have set a base goal of 50 chapters for this book, that may or may not be where I'll end it. Again, this will be determined by how the book ends up playing out.
