Chapter 30: Day Off

Garroth's POV
I am waiting next to both of the beds that held Aphmau and Laurance. Everyone else returned to class, but I offered to stay as well as Katelyn.

Please. Please just wake up.

My head is resting in my hands which were propped up on my knees. Both Laurance and Aphmau were completely still except for the steady rising and falling of their chests as they breathed and the occasional twitch of their feet.

~Time skip 1 hour of silence~

I'm lost in my thoughts, imagining all of the possible out comes of this. This reminds me all too well of Aphmau's coma. Everyone waiting around, anticipation crackling in the air.

But not as many people.

Suddenly I hear Aphmau whisper something.

"Amethyst! Wait!" I see her stir and her eyes flicker open.

"A-Aphmau? Y-you're awake?" I stutter in fear because I notice her eyes are dull.

"Oww." She whines quietly. She feebly reaches her right hand up to touch her head. When she touches her bruise she winces. She turns her head slowly and looks at me. "G-Garroth? Wh-what happened?" She whispers.

"I'll tell you about it later. Just get some rest." I tell her. She nods and drifts off, smiling slightly.

~The Next Day~

Aphmau's POV

I wake up in my room. I stretch to relieve the stiffness in my muscles and I look at my clock.

6:03 pm

Did I miss school?

I blink sleep from my eyes and I sit up in my bed. I hiss at the pain in my thigh, but I stand up. There are faint murmurs coming from downstairs and I slowly limp toward them.

As I lower myself down the stairs, the voices gradually get louder.

"...just keep our heads up and hope for the best." Kiki says.

I giggle to myself. It seems as if my house is a meeting place for everyone.

I enter the living room and I see four people. Kiki, Cadenza, Katelyn, and Garroth.

I notice Kiki and Garroth perk up and smile and Cadenza and Katelyn run up and hug me.

"Aphmau!" They shout in unison. I giggle as they jump up and down around me.

"Hi Aph!" Kiki chirps happily.

"Hey Aphmau!" Garroth chimes in, smiling.

"Hi guys!" I say as I limp to the closest seat, which was next to Garroth. "You did that on purpose, right." I giggle.

Garroth's eyes widen in confusion. "D-did what?" He stutters.

"Sit in the closest spot so I could sit next to you. You did that on purpose, didn't you?" I tease playfully.

He starts blushing. "Wh-why would you think that?" He asks.

I burst out laughing. "I'm just teasing you! Calm down!"

I see Cadenza's face is red because she is holding back a laugh and Katelyn is snickering. And Kiki...

Well Kiki is a box of giggles.

Makes sense, her name is after her laugh.

"Hey Aphmau? When you woke up yesterday in the nurses office, you called for someone named Amethyst. Who is she?" Garroth asks after a moment when everyone had calmed down.

I explain to everyone Amethyst's story and how Laurance was there too. They listen intently.

"You seem to have alot of these kinds of dreams, Aphmau. Would you even call them dreams? Maybe visions?" Kiki says pointedly.

"Now that I think about it, I do. I wonder why." I say curiously.

"How about we stop thinking about all of this serious stuff and just have a little fun? These past few days have been so serious, how about we just take a few friends and go do something that doesn't involve this week's drama?" Cadenza offers.

I nod. "Sounds like fun!" I say smiling.

Kiki, Katelyn, and Garroth agree as well and we do a bit of planning.

...

We all decided to go out to dinner. Katelyn, Kiki, Nicole, Cadenza, Laurance, Garroth, and Dante came along.

When we all order our food, we start talking, but someone comes and interrupts us.

"Oh look! It's the terrible chicken house builder! Oh and stupid-faced Laurance!" He says.

"Ughh! Castor!" I say folding my arms together on the table and laying my head in them.

"Why are you here Castor?" Laurance asks impatiently.

"You two know this man?" Garroth asks and I look up and nod.

"He was in Laurance's kindergarten class and I met him when I went hiking." I say regaining some memory of him as the words came out.

Castor walk up to Laurance. "I'm still mad at you." He says.

"And why would that be?" Laurance replys, annoyed.

"You still owe me five dollars from three years ago."

"REALLY! THAT'S WHY YOU'RE MAD!" Dante shouts exasperated.

"Yes. But I'll lower it to three dollars, friend discount." Castor replies goofily.

"Well then I don't want to be your friend." I mumble.

"Hm?"

"Oh nothing!" I say and Nicole giggles beside me.

"I hope you've improved on your chicken house building skills!" He says.

"Castor. Please leave." Laurance says through clenched teeth.

"Fiiinnneee!" Castor says and he walks away.

"You sure have some wierd friends, Laurance." Dante says.

"Dante. You do realize you're one of my friends." Laurance states, chuckling.

"Well then I'm fine being wierd." He replies cheekily.

"Let's just face it, we're all weird in our own little way!" Cadenza giggles.

~Heeeyyy! So I might have, kind of, a little bit, maybe, yes, yes I did marathon FairyTail, and I'm TOTALLY not on episode 200... *nervous giggle* Yeah I had a bit of fun with this chapter.

Ahh...

I have an idea for next chapter. :3

I wanted this chapter to lighten the mood of the seriousness of the recent chapters, but!

Mark my words!

The drama is NOT over!

Yeah.
