Demi
The day Nick & I were reunited with Lyric, was one of the best days of my life. Not only was my daughter back with me, safe & sound, but I also found out that Nick & I were going to have a baby boy. Everything, in my life, was perfect, but I didn't want to be too happy & jinx it. Watching the fireworks that night was the most perfect way to end the day. I didn't want to go back to my room, that was for sure, but my nurse was insistent. At least, Lyric & Nick got to stay in the room with me.
I was released the next day & could not wait to get out of there. Joe & Chloe came to get us & we headed back to L.A. The moment we went inside the house, I was reminded of the ordeal that had happened, since there were some officers there, gathering equipment. There were also a few reporters that Nick had said could be there, but neglected to tell me, so I sent Lyric up to her room until they were gone. Nick & I did a few quick interviews, then I went up to lay down, since I was pretty tired. I hadn't slept well, since Lyric disappeared, so now that she was safe, I was ready to sleep for at least a day.
I wasn't sure how long I'd been asleep, when Nick woke me up by kissing my forehead & rubbing my belly, gently. "It's almost ten, sweetheart. I thought you might be hungry, so I brought you a grilled cheese sandwich." He murmured against my ear. "And it's delicious because Joe made it before he left."
I let out a laugh with a stretch. "It's ten at night? Why'd you let me sleep so long?" I asked, turning toward him, stretching my body a little.
"You've been through a lot. You needed to rest."
"Is Lyric awake?"
"No, she crashed on the couch before eight, just after we ate, so I carried her up to bed." He slid one of his arms under my pillow & the other one wrapped around my middle. "It's been a long couple of weeks."
I turned my head & looked directly into Nick's eyes. "Have you talked to her about what happened, to her, while she was with Angel? Did she hurt her? Was she..." I couldn't finish my sentence, because the thought of things that could have been done to her, made me sick.
"She swears she wasn't hurt at all."
I nodded. "Do you believe her?"
"Yes, actually, I do."
I sat up & moved my body back, so I was sitting against the headboard. "Good. That's a relief, at least. What did the police say about Angel & Roger? Are they close to finding them?" I asked, my voice shaking.
"They are still looking for them, but don't worry. I had our security system upgraded tonight while you were sleeping & I am having a new security fence & gate installed next week. We will be safe & Lyric will be safe. I promise."
I smiled at him, gratefully. "Thank you, baby. Know what? I am hungry." I batted my lashes at Nick & he jumped off the bed to get the plate of food he had set on the dresser. I started eating as Nick watched me, smiling. "We need to plan her party ya know? It's already the weekend, so should we plan it for next weekend?" I asked, him after I finished chewing.
"Sure. Or we see what everyone is doing tomorrow & we go to a fancy restaurant to celebrate. I mean she doesn't need a huge party, does she? Just her family & a celebration so she knows how much we love her."
"I guess. Maybe we could ask her."
"I'll text my brothers & your sisters & our parents & see if everyone is free tomorrow... or we could do it Sunday, I guess. Or we just do whatever the hell she wants this weekend. All weekend. Sky's the limit." Nick had this grin on his face that made me fall in love with him a little more. He was so happy she was home & safe & he wanted to give her the world.
