The sequel to The Missing Lyric finds Nick & Demi dealing with full time parenthood, now that they have legally become Lyric's parents. Being full time parents with two crazy careers, while also trying to keep their marriage intact has its challenge...
Our hearts were breaking, hearing Lyric plead with Nick to destroy the DNA results. I saw Nick's face & how torn he was. My eyes were filled with tears as Nick knelt down in front of Lyric. "Okay, I won't open it now. I'll wait until you're asleep."
Lyric shook her head, rapidly. "No. I don't want you to read them at all." Lyric was frantic as she tried to calm down.
"Baby, if I don't look & see it, in black & white, I will always wonder." Nick's voice shook a little & I wanted to go to them & wrap my arms around them both, then take them far away from the rest of the world.
"You can't read them, Daddy. You can't. Just pretend you read them & it said I was yours."
"Lyric, calm down." Nick said as he placed his hands on her arms. She sniffed & started whimpering. "Why don't you want to know the truth? Or why don't you want me to know the truth?"

Nick let out a breath & shook his head before he put his hand on one side of Lyric's face. "That will never happen. I will always love you the same way. Nothing. I mean nothing could ever change my love for you, do you hear me?" Nick asked, waiting for her to nod her head. "I loved you before I knew you were my daughter, so if I ever found out you weren't my flesh & blood, I would still love you, just the same."
