Ambrose closed his eyes as he accepted his fate, his battle with Cyril had taken its toll. He found peace in the fact that Keira was far away from this blasted place and with that, he could accept death. Seconds ticked by as he awaited the cold, steel sword to penetrate his chest but no such moment came.

A liquid warmth splashed across his face, causing him to furrow his brow. His hand tenderly touched his cheek and he then peeled his eyes open to examine what had landed on him--blood. It was not his own, he knew that. He looked up to find who's blood was shed and he was overcome with shock and grief. There, standing before him, was his beloved Keira with the blade that was meant for him impaled in her abdomen.

"No," he meant to shout but instead it came out as a hoarse whisper. His eyes dilated, his heart quickened. Finally regaining his voice he cried, "KEIRAAA!" A new wave of adrenaline coursed through his veins and he appeared next to her side, catching her before she could fall to the ground. "You're not supposed to be here!" He cradled her, disheartened and broken, he looked upon her beauty as her own blood stained her tunic and seeped from her innards.

"Did you honestly thi-" Keira coughed and a trickle of blood spilled from the corner of her mouth, "think that I would sit idly by?" She managed a small smile and Ambrose's heart wrenched from his chest.

The woman that he finally realized as his one true soulmate was in Death's grasp. He couldn't bare the thought of losing her. His hand gripped the hilt of the sword that laid hold within her. What could he do? He couldn't pull it out, it might do even more damage to her body.

He was brought back from his thoughts when Keira touched his cheek with a delicate finger. "Do not give me that look, Ambrose," she traced her finger up his jawline, to his temple, and across his forehead to smooth out the wrinkles that morphed his face into such sadness and pain. "I am no damsel in distress."

"Kari?!"

The couple were brought out of their trance as they heard Cyril's cracked voice. Ambrose's arms tightened around Keira. A series of coughs spewed from Keira's lips as more blood spattered. Ambrose only grew more furious. He roared so thunderously that even the earth quaked. And as the grounds beneath them shook upon his cry, all troops from both parties ceased their battles and stood in awe and grief. They knew the reason for that bawl, only when one loses their mate does one feel such remorse and despair.

Ambrose smeared the blood off of Keira's lips, he could see her soul drifting from this world and his heart began to break into a million pieces. He placed a chaste kiss upon her lips as a single tear fell from his eyes and landed on her cheek, committing her face to memory; those violet orbs that he became so fond of. He thundered for his men to appear by his side and he reluctantly handed her over to them. "Get her out of here. Now! Seek immediate medical attention." His warriors nodded at his command and swiftly gutted through the rest of the enemy ranks before escaping the battlefield.

"No! I will not let you take her from me!" Cyril raged. "She is mine!"

In an instant, Cyril was flown against the brick wall with Ambrose's fist clenched deadly around his throat. The rage that was pouring out of his essence could be felt by everyone. This battle to come was for vengeance. Ambrose clenched his fists, turning his knuckles white, his eyes glowed with blood thirst. "You will pay," Ambrose breathed menacingly. Picking Cyril up by his throat, Ambrose tossed him against a pillar with ease. Adrenaline fueled him and his wounds sustained from their engagement before were healing at astonishing speed even at the standards for a were. "I will have your head!" Ambrose lunged towards Cyril, delivering a series of deadly blows. A kick to the abdomen sent Cyril crashing through the castle behind them and Ambrose speedily followed, not giving Cyril a single second to recover. "If she dies I will leave you hanging on the brink of death. Over and over I will have you at your last breath simply for you to recover enough for me to torture again and again!"
