At eight in the night, Raghu took sanyukta out of the Park hotel and they drove to vardhan's place. Vardhan was glad and surprised at the same time to see sanyukta at his doorstep after really a long time. "Beta" Vardhan leant a bit forward hugged her and dropped a peck on her head. That moment sanyukta couldn't contain her pain and torment, "papa" she hugged him tight and began to cry like a kid. Vardhan was staggere and looked at raghu while raghu kept staring at sanyukta painfully.
"What happened?" Vardhan hushed to Raghu.
"Parth" Raghu heaved a sigh caressing Sanyukta's hair.
~~~~~~
For the next halfen hour sanyukta narrated everything that had happened in the past few months, right from the night she and raghu discovered parth's true face to the day. And she told them that parth was behind the accident, behind agarwal's bankruptcy and now randhir's. Vardhan was stunned to hear all this.
"What should we do now?" she asked once after she completed. There was silence. No one spoke but exchanged a few concerned stares.
"Well... uh..." vardhan stammered and said, "it's good if we discuss it with randhir, he's getting himself into that trap and we should pull him out." Vardhan opined.
"I think we should." Raghu looked at sanyukta. But sanyukta wasn't sure about discussing parth with randhir. For, she knew the way randhir trusts parth and she was sure it was way more than that of what he had for sanyukta.
"You have to" raghu emphasized placing his palm on her hand thus breaking those pensive thoughts of hers.
"Uh" sanyukta, startled, looked up at raghu and nooded. "I will."
~~~~~~
It was nine in the night by the time raghu dropped sanyukta to her apartment. Randhir wasn't there.
"He must be with parth." Raghu said.
"Perhaps." Sanyukta mumbled.
"Alright. Take care" raghu said kneeling down to face her. "Clear the air as soon as possible. Sanyukta, did you get me?" he asked caressing her cheek.
"I will" sanyukta nodded and bid him good bye. After raghu left, sanyukta's maid helped her to change and made her settle in the couch in the living room. As the clock struck 10 in the night, the maid servant too left, leaving sanyukta alone in the flat. Sanukta till then was all good but being alone and thinking about the ways to disclose the thing to randhir, she beagn to dread. "What if randhir takes me the other way?" "What if he doesn't believe me?" she said to herself. Cold sweat broke into beads on her creased forehead as thoughts whirled continuously in her head. Thinking about those thing sanyukta slowly slipped into kip with her fingers crossed hoping everything to go well.
~~~~~~
As the clock struck 12 in the sanyukta's sleep thinned as she heard the front door creaking open. "You're home?" she asked groggily, rubbing her eyes. There was no answer. Instead she felt a pair of arms lifting her up and walking into their bed room. Sanyukta opened her eyes to randhir, who was staring at her lovingly, with groggy eyes though and smiled nervously at him. Randhir smiled back at her, placed her on the bed and began to walk out of the room when sanyukta held his tie and stopped him.
"Stay" she mumbled.
Randhir loosened her grip and stood back "soory baby, am little drunk. I'll sleep in the couch today" he smiled guiltily at her and began to step back.
"That bloody parth. He made randhir drink." Sanyukta shook her head in despair, for she knew randhir didn't have that habit of drinking.
"How did it go?" she asked.
