It was half past 12 in the midnight and there was an urgent meeting in sanyukta's office with the architects and contractors, sanyukta seemed calm but her livid eyes were oozing fire. Her voice was dark and intimidating. The men there in her cabin were gulping the lump in their throats. They knew the consequences if they found guilty in this. They wished silently that it shouldn't be their fault. Whilst sanyukta spoke "where did it went wrong?" she asked leaning on to the table, raghu was watching them silently "come on! Speak up!" she banged her fists on the table. No one let out a word but exchanged fishy stares. Sanyukta rolled her eyes impatiently and looked at raghu "call the manager here!" she said. Raghu nodded and made a call.

Within ten minutes the manager with the records was there at sanyukta's office. Sanyukta was examining few of the certificates which certified the quality of land and ability of soil there to hold a building. They were all perfect.

"They are all perfect ma'am" her manager prompted. Sanyukta shot her gaze up at him.

"Then where it went wrong darn! Speak up!" she flung the file against the table. There occupied a dead silence "fine, from where did you order the cement" she asked. The manager replied a dealer name

"Bricks?" she asked. The manager replied the same dealer's name

"And men!" she asked narrowing her eyes. The manager was about to say something when the phone in her cabin rang. She waved the manager off and picked up the receiver

"Hello" she sounded irritated

Silence

"Hello!" she nearly screamed this time.

"Randhir Singh Shekawat" came the roar from the other side. Sanyukta's face stiffened and she clenched her jaws. Her grip on the receiver got tightened. Raghu watched her face changing the colors. She was silent for minutes and then slammed down the receiver. Raghu was baffled at her acts; however, no one knows what was the conversation on the phone and who was that on the other side. As soon as she hung up she smiled and said "gentle men. You may leave now"

The men exchanged bewildered stares and left in silence. As the men left, sanyukta turned her chair that made a swivel movement and stalled facing the window. She sat and leaned back smiling, staring at the buildings outside. Raghu was perplexed.

"Sanyukta" he mellowed. She looked at him and his eyes mirrored confusion mixed with fear. "What's wrong" he asked meekly. She shook her head and switched the TV on.

"Watch the news raghu" she said continuing to stare out. Raghu shifted his gaze to the screen. The news was rolling "massive mishap in the town. Building crashed down to ground. No lives lost. Details are as in...." The news reader continued to give the details

"What's so new?" raghu asked.

"Just don't watch it. Listen to it." Sanyukta said not looking at him. He nodded and shifted his gaze back to screen. The news reader was reading and raghu was all ears. As he continued to listen his eyes popped out at once when the news reader said that there were no lives lost.

"How can that be possible?" he turned to sanyukta, she was now smiling at him. "10 stories, 3 flats for floor, thirty families and how can there be no one under the debris." Sanyukta was still looking at him while his face underwent a major transformation from thoughtful look to extreme wrath.

"Damn! This is planned!" he banged his fist into his palm.

"Exactly! The flats were all vacated before the mishap had occurred." She said standing up and walking towards him.
