The sky was pouring down unusually that night. The rain was unseasonal and violent. It was just ten in the night by the time Randhir pulled up in his black Bentley and drove away on the Delhi roads. On his way, he dialled Raghu but the call never connected. He then dialled Vardhan, but that call too dropped.
"Damn it!" Randhir banged his fist against the steering and kicked hard on accelerator. Tears were brimming out of his eyes, making his vision blur. All those things sanyukta had told him about parth came rushing to his mind. He thought of her and it pained him even more to think how alone she was in this, scared. He imagined for a second about what she must've gone through and his body shuddered violently, giving him goose bumps. He began to hate himself for not being with her. But now he was determined to seek justice or vengeance or whatever it was. For sanyukta, for what all she had faced.
As the clock struck ten thirty randhir found himself in front of parth's apartment. It was still raining. Randhir left his Bentley without parking and rushed into the apartment. He banged on Parth's door till parth opened it.
"Randhir" parth was unafazedto see him at his door step at this hour of time. "Come in" Parth stepped aside giving way for him and Randhir walked in.
"I need little help Parth" Randhir said not looking at him. "What does it take to kill a person and get proven not guilty?" randhir asked. There was a strange change in randhir's tone that parth immediately noticed.
"What's the matter brother" parth walked up to him and stood facing him.
"Don't you dare call me brother you bloody son of bitch!" randhir gritted grabbing his collar. His deep dark eyes were livid and were oozing fire. Parth laughed and freed himself from his grip.
"So you gotta know everything finally!" he stepped away and leaned against the huge glass pane that was fitted for the window. "Let me guess. You must have read those messages right?" parth said. "Else how could your poor brain figure out what's actually happening?"
Randhir said nothing. He stood there staring at parth, shocked at the revealation of his true identity. Even when never ending pain and guilt was numbing his senses he stood there focused on what parth was saying. Every word. Every sentence.
"Then, my dear brother" parth continued "oops... I mean, friend...let me tell you, there's a lot more sanyukta hadn't told you. There's lot more that those messages hadn't conveyed you." He narrowed his eyes.
"What do you mean?" randhir's head was spinning as he tried hard not to think but still thoughts kept fogging his mind.
"I meant, all this while you are running like a mad dog to save your ass, sanyukta is with me. Here, in this flat! In my bed! In my arms is your beloved wife, making love to me." Parth smirked. That was it. That was the limit and randhir couldn't contain his anger anymore. Even when he was all drenched he began to feel unusually hot, with blood surging in his viens. The moment Parth completed talking; randhir lunged forward in a stride and grabbed his collar.
"Don't you dare use your filthy mouth to take my sanyukta's name! You filthy orphan!" randhir seethed, grabbing his collar and began to punch hard in his face. Blood was gushing out parth's nose and he was smiling but he never hit randhir, back. His smile irked randhir even more and he began to smash his face with his fist, hard.
"Hey!" parth said suddenly in between the hiatus of Randhir's punches "you trust her so much right?" Parth said but randhir was in no stage to listen. He was hitting parth black and blue. Now parth was lying on the floor curled up in fetel position as randhir began to kick in his guts. But still parth continued to speak "so have she ever told you what happened that night when we met in the restaurant?" he asked. Suddenly something struck randhir's mind on hearing parth's words and he stopped kicking parth.
