“It's all right to love someone who doesn't love you back, as long as they're worth you loving them. As long as they deserve it.”

“Are you ready to leave?” I asked Astrid just as everyone was heading out of the arena. The show tonight was amazing. My favorite part was when we sang ‘My Heart Will Go On’ by Celine Dion. I wanted to scream and tell the world that I wanted to dedicate this song to Astrid but I kept my mouth shut unsatisfied. At least Astrid knew this song was about her. If she knew and she was happy about it then I was happy. I could tell just by looking at her after the show ended that she was as excited for tonight as I was. I literally could keep myself from grinning like an idiot all the time. The boys were looking at me like I was crazy. And I was crazy, about her.

“Yes. Let me grab my jacket and my purse.” She said as she went to the kitchen where she was always leaving her things. I smiled at myself as I remembered what happened in the kitchen in Paris and how it led to that massive water fight. I was surprised that none of us had caught a cold or at least a sore throat.  Elena passed by me and wished me goodnight. “Goodnight” I said to her as she left. I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between Elena and Astrid. They both had long blond hair and the same figure. From a distance they look exactly alike but if someone took a closer look he could easily see that they were in fact so different. Someone could easily see the hardness on Elena’s face and the pained expression that Astrid usually wore. I had come to conclusion that sadness in her eyes wasn’t going to leave no matter how happy she was. I really wished her childhood was so harsh. Losing her brother, at such a young age must have taken a toll on her. The sadness in her eyes was a living proof.

Five minutes had passed but Astrid hadn’t showed. I went looking for her.

“Astrid?” I said as I entered the kitchen. It was pitch dark in here. I immediately switched on the lights. Once my eyes adjusted to the light I saw Astrid in the centre of the kitchen. She had her back turned to me. I approached her slowly.

“Are you okay, angel?” I said. She raised her hand as if to stop from coming closer. She took a deep breath and turned to face me. She smiled at me but her smile didn’t touch her eyes.

“Yep. Let’s go” she said taking my arm.

The restaurant was at a sidewalk close to the hotel. I was glad about that. I could ‘walk her home’ like a real gentleman would. Throughout the dinner she seemed distracted. Her mind wasn’t with me. I wondered where her mind was travelling. What was worrying her? Once we ordered, we started talking about what we are going to do at the cities that we’re going to visit. She seemed really excited about going to Verona. She was a Shakespeare fan, so I wasn’t surprised to hear that.

“Have you ever been to Italy?” I asked.

“Of course. my parents and I have done a road trip around Italy. I liked Florence and Rome a lot. And Venice, of course.” she said. Our food came as she talked and thanked the waitress and spoke to her about the restaurant in fluent German.

“When did you learn to speak German?” I asked curiously.

“When I was in Greece, it is mandatory to learn two learn two foreign languages at school, since I am bilingual. I learned German and Spanish and of course I studied and passed my exams on English as well. I can teach English you know.”  She said. I had to admit she was a big know-it-all, but that made me like her even more.
