Sorry for not updating for so long!

reason #19 (how smart you were)

dear luke, this is the nineteenth reason of 101 why I loved you.

nineteen weeks in, and I still didn't know why I chose the number 101 as my limit. limit wasn't necessarily what it was, I think I just knew that I loved more than a couple things about you.

what do they usually say? you can't have beauty and brains? something like that. you being blonde was just another stereotype.

I would be in awe at times as you explained things to me. you loved science, and when you weren't strumming that guitar, you were writing out theories. it was amazing work, and I was always thrilled that after you retired from the band you would put effort and love into those theories.

you dying, just left those notes untouched, left on the bookshelves collecting dust with all of the photo albums I dare not open for obvious reasons.

I think you were afraid of the knowledge you held. you didn't want to have a job as a scientist, you didn't want to work in a lab wearing a coat and think about working with things that had the possibility of killing you- no, you just wanted to rock out on stage and make the people you loved happy.

when you weren't on stage, it was something to tease your brain. you couldn't get enough. I loved that about you, though. I loved that you could be so carefree on stage, then want to come home and watch a science documentary while rubbing my stomach.

I think the small things are what stuck the most. the quirks and not so obvious obsessions of yours that I found myself cherishing.

that was reason 19 of 101 why I loved you.

love, amanda
